Molly Dow and Michael Simmons marry
OQUOSSOC — The wedding of Molly Elizabeth Dow and Lt. Michael Landis Simmons was held on Saturday, July 16, 2011, at the Oquossoc Union Log Church with the Reverend John Williams officiating.
The bride is the daughter of David and Catherine Dow of Paris. She is also the granddaughter of Donald and Cecilia Adamson of Paris, and the late Neil and Marion Dow of Norway. The bridegroom is the son of Robert and Claudia Simmons of Hanover, PA.
The bride was given in marriage by her father and wore an ivory lace gown with pearl beading and complimented with a lace bolero jacket. She carried a bouquet of pink Esperanto roses accented with green love-lies-bleeding.
The maid of honor was Laura Dow, sister of the bride. Liza Chase, friend of the bride, served as bridesmaid. The flower girl was Isabel Adamson, cousin of the bride.
The best man was Daniel Graybill, friend of the groom. Jonathan Simmons, brother of the groom, served as groomsman. A special reading was done by Lt. Alex Sudyk, friend of the groom.
The reception was held at the Loon Lodge Inn on the shores of Rangeley Lake, after which the couple traveled to the Balsams Grand Resort in New Hampshire for their honeymoon. They have a home in Henderson Harbor, NY.
The bride is a graduate of Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School and the University of Southern Maine. She is currently pursuing her master's degree in Community Planning and Development at USM.
The bridegroom is a graduate of South Western High School and the United States Military Academy at West Point. He is currently serving as an Army engineer officer in Afghanistan.
