SOUTH WOODSTOCK — Condolences are going out to the family of Rodney Hanscom, Sr. Love and prayers to each family member.

Get well wishes are going out to the many who are down with this flu bug. Marie Dyke is a patient at the hospital with pneumonia. Get well soon, Marie, love ya.

I was down for four days with a sore throat and that yukky feeling, but I kept lots of vitamin C going through the system along with chicken soup. Yogi is now down with sneezes, sniffles, sore throat and all over body aches. I follow around behind him using antibacterial wipes and Lysol spray. And I make sure his bedroom window is open every day so as to kill all those bacteria germs.

No, he did not get the flu shot again this year. I did and very thankful I did, the flu serum this year has the H1N1 virus protectant added so double protection and only one shot instead of two.

Have been truly enjoying this 50 degree weather but one still has to remember to dress warm even though the weather is nice. I know we are all anxious and waiting for all that great spring weather but we still must remember that the air is still very, very cool even though the temperature is over 50 degrees.

It's only 28 degrees here this morning but the wind is very blustery and cold. (Brrrrrrrrr!)

In 14 days the Down East Country Music Association's award winners for 2010 will be traveling to Pigeon Forge, TN to compete in the North East Country Music Association Inc. competitions. Best wishes and good luck to all who will be competing.

We were planning on joining friends at the Norway Fire station tonight to support them and to enjoy the great supper they put on, but with Yogi not feeling up to par we decided not to attend, no need to pass this flu bug around. So I put on a pot of beans to slow cook for supper, besides with that bitter wind blowing around out there I'd rather stay home. We will miss those who we so enjoy seeing.

The Paris fire department will be holding their public supper on March 5 ,so hopefully we will get to attend that one.
