South Woodstock news

SOUTH WOODSTOCK — Condolences are going out to Juanita Ford on the recent passing of her mom. Love and prayers are going out to Juanita and other family members.

Busy, busy, busy - holiday baking, gifts to wrap, Christmas gatherings and spending some time with a few shut-ins.

I truly cannot believe that this year is almost over. My, how time flies when one keeps busy all year.

Friends and fellow musicians gathered Saturday evening at the home of Dickie and Bea Moreau (Jay) for a Christmas get-together. The garage was beautifully decorated for the occasion. The band played favorite dance music plus a sing along on the requested Christmas carols. A buffet was set up with lots of hot dishes to choose from plus homemade candies, cheese ball, party mixes and assorted cheeses and other party snacks - an event to remember with great memories. And the hostess sent home a goodie basket with each person to enjoy over the holiday.

We spent time visiting with family and friends at the nursing home Sunday afternoon and evening.

Construction has come to an end for some of the truck drivers; others will be getting laid off soon.

Hope you all had a great Christmas. Wishing each of you a very happy New Year.

Quote of the week: "In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life; it goes on."
