The Historical Society Museum actually has some furniture caned and made by Indians. It belonged to local author, George Allen England, who was a friend of Hemingway and stayed with him in his Key West home. England had a camp on Lake Christopher and his daughter saved someone from drowning and was awarded the Carnegie medal. England was a distinguished graduate of Harvard and ran as a Socialist for governor of Maine.

Woodstock had a citizen who became governor, Sidney Perham. He had a career on Paris Hill as well and is buried in Lakeside Cemetery. He served sometime around the Civil War period and was active in temperance and the Universalist Church.

The Christmas light on the common tree is very pretty and thanks to the firemen for decorating it.
