BRYANT POND — Sunday services at the Baptist Church are Sunday School at 9:15 a.m., Morning Worship at 10:30 a.m. and Evening Service at 6 p.m. On Wednesday, the Prayer Meeting is at 6:30 p.m.
A Thanksgiving Eve service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on November 24. On Sunday, November 28, at 5 p.m. there is a special business meeting to vote on the pastor's resignation. Decorating for the church for Christmas will be Sunday, December 4, at 10 a.m. The Christmas program will be held at 6 p.m. on December 19.
Franklin Grange 124 will meet on December 4, for their Christmas program. This is a day meeting starting at 10 a.m. with a potluck lunch.
The Woodstock Extension group met at the Town Conference Room on Wednesday, November 17, to make Thanksgiving favors for the nursing home. The next meeting is a Christmas party at Alice Hoyt's. New members are always welcome.
December 9, at 2 p.m. is the Whitman Memorial Library program for December. It will feature the Woodstock Elementary School chorus under the direction of Linda Stowell and a Christmas sing-along with Susan Glines. There is no charge and all are welcome. Light refreshments will be served.
At the November meeting of the Historical Society members discussed Thanksgiving memories and enjoyed pizza. The December meeting will be the first Saturday, at 6 p.m. at Market Square Health Care Center where Mary Billings resides.
The Society Museum is a historical and cultural center for the area. The collection of artifacts, art and antiques is truly fine.
The museum is building for the future though it deals with the past. Exhibits are saved today to be enjoyed for posterity. That's why when you give something to the Society, you can be assured it will benefit future generations.
Do attend Society meetings where there are potluck suppers and informative programs. Remember at the Christmas party gifts are exchanged. A woman brings a gift for a woman and a man for a man. That's so everyone gets a gift.
Curator Larry Billings has a white church that lights up that he got at a yard sale. It looks like the Bryant Pond Baptist Church. A family dressed for winter is out in front.
