BRYANT POND — Sunday services at the Baptist Church are Sunday School at 9:15 a.m., Morning Worship at 10:30 a.m. and Evening Service at 6 p.m. On Wednesday, Prayer Meeting is at 6:30 p.m. The men's prayer breakfast will be at 7 a.m. on November 13, in the church social hall. On November 24, there will be a Thanksgiving Eve service at 6:30 p.m.

Franklin Grange 124 met at the hall on Monday, November 1. The next meeting is Saturday, November 20, at 10 a.m. with a potluck dinner afterwards.

The Woodstock Extension Group will meet at the Town Conference Room on Wednesday, November 17, at 1 p.m. Favors for Thanksgiving will be made. New members are always welcome.

The Historical Society Museum has the minister's chairs, organ and Bible from South Woodstock Church and also the pulpit. This is appropriate as there should be a spiritual dimension to the representation of the community. The museum also has a few signs for the Little Jap Tearoom, Cole's Store and many posters from the Dudley Opera House and other places in town. The Chase Store, that there is so much controversy about, was quite historic. The Standard was printed there and there is a lot of print from its press at the museum. It was also the local drugstore.

Larry Billings got a book on Meryl Streep from Books 'n Things. Sandy Dennis often orders things for him.

He is glad he graduated from Gould Academy as it has a beautiful campus, especially with the Student Union and science buildings. He doesn't go back often but he did recently meet an old classmate and was warmly greeted. Quite a few people he knew still live in Bethel.

The Woodstock-Greenwood Senior Citizens met at the Locke Mills Church on Thursday, November 4. A delicious dinner was served and a silent auction was held. The next meeting will be a Christmas party at the Legion Hall. Please bring something for the food pantry and Christmas for Kids. If you wish to exchange gifts, bring one.
