SOUTH WOODSTOCK — Another rainy day, but the sun is doing its best to make a full appearance. The temperature is 58 degrees, I'm so looking for a great weekend.
I picked up a bleeding heart plant, two rose bushes, three Orange Lilly bulbs and some morning glory seeds and I'm anxious to get them in the ground. If the sun does come out over the weekend, the lawn will need mowing. Our friend Betty D. likes coming up to mow, she starts her summer tan this way.
She spends about three hours out mowing the front lawn and the ball diamond we have out back. I prepare lunch for the day and Yogi does the cooking on the grill.
The girls stayed until after 6 p.m. last year; looking forward to another year of getting together with friends and just enjoying our time talking, laughing, eating and just spending time together.
Condolences to the families of Sid Scott, Betty Ridley, Everett (Chick) Batchelder, Theodore C. Durgan, Richard H. MacGown, Marita Hunton, Beverly May Billings and Edwin Stevens. Love and prayers to each family member on the loss of their loved ones.
Birthday wishes are going out to Raynold McAllister, Christopher Bond, Wayne Tripp, Jessica Koskela, Jeanne Whittemore, Cara Billings and Mary Anne Brown.
It was great seeing Louise Guilford, Marie Dyke and Betty Davis last week, much love to you all.
My first Red Breasted Gross Beak arrived at the feeders yesterday, also my first Bluebird arrived two days ago. Hummingbird arrived but only stayed a few minutes, then he left - hoping he will come back. I keep my camera handy so as to take pictures of them enjoying their time at the feeders.

There will be camping and tenting available. This is a rain or shine weekend. Food concession will be open with all your favorites; there will also be 50/50 drawings and raffles.
Get well wishes to those who are not feeling quite up to par these days. Hope all will be up and feeling better real soon.
That's all from the valley this week. Stay well and enjoy your weekend.
