West Sumner

WEST SUMNER — Readers, thank you so much for telling me you enjoy my columns. It keeps me encouraged to keep writing.

The West Sumner Baptist Church services are Sunday School at 9:45 a.m., Sunday morning service at 11 a.m. and evening service at 6 p.m. Prayer Meeting is at 7 p.m. every Wednesday night.

I invite you all to come and hear the Word of God preached. Our pastor's wife, Nancy Thurlow, has been battling a cancer since the first of the year. She is in the Hospice House in Auburn and has been a real trooper. She has been a tremendous example for us all to follow. She is still teaching us. She doesn't complain and she is at peace with God.

I have some memories concerning Edwin Stevens. Awhile back I was walking on my road and at least twice he came along on his four wheeler with his dog and stopped to talk with me. We talked about many things and for quite a while. I was so pleased and am now to have these memories. I also got a Christmas card from him one time in the middle of the summer. My sympathies go out to the family.

I know how bad we needed this rain but now I need the sunshine. How about you?

We master our minutes or become slaves to them. We use them or they use us.
