SOUTH WOODSTOCK — Condolences to the families of Claribel Poland, Warren Smith and Dickie Brown. Our love and prayers to each family member.

This is a very short column. I have been down sick since late Tuesday afternoon; yup, I ended up sharing Yogi's cold. I ended up three different nights with the fever. I look like I'd been in a fight with a pro fighter, my lips so swollen and blistered from the fevers.

Was not impressed with the snowstorm we got Friday. I want it to be spring.

Speaking of spring, I recently ran across some photos taken three or four years ago when we were truly enjoying the spring birds of all different species. We have had no birds this fall or winter except for crows and ravens, not even any mourning doves. We put out fresh feed for them three times since December, and still no takers, not even the winter finches.

I'm sorry for not getting more written. For those of you who are also down with illnesses, please get well soon.
