LOVELL — I think winter is truly here. It’s cold and these snowstorms we’ve been getting as well as my achy bones are a sure sign.
On Saturday, January 14, our grandson Joseph came to visit Russell and Penny. He went sliding that day with Julie, Kayla and Peter next door. Peter is Frank and Val Gendron’s son-in-law to be and Kayla and Julie are their daughter Sherry’s girls. The oldest girl Jaime was skiing with her uncle and aunt and their families. Val and Frank entertained all the family all the long weekend. On Sunday, the children and Joseph went sliding again. Sherry and Peter are running the Wicked Good Store and have been since last year. Stop by and have a good meal or lunch or call for a take-out. Pizzas, specials, sandwiches, french fries, etc. call all be taken out if you wish not to sit inside.
Joseph went home on January 17, with our son Kevin around 5 p.m.
Russell visited Rebecca Ring a few minutes on Saturday evening and took her some ice cream and diet root beer.
Paul Walker is still at the Bridgton Health Care and enjoys hearing from those he knows from here.
Let’s not forget all our shut-ins or those who have had to be in assisted living or nursing facilities. They all like to hear from us and one card or letter a week can and does cheer them up and they don’t feel. so lonely. Rebecca Ring, Barbara Blovel, Paul Walker, Erulin McAllister, Juanita Perkins, Dorothy Bell and Dennis Emery are just a few I can name.
Linda Drew dropped of her mother’s groceries and visited Rebecca for awhile on January 17. She takes good care of her mom and Russell and I help whenever we can. Russell helps Roberta and John Chandler some as well. John is another one who loves to see people and hear from them also.
In last week’s column, there was an error of Roxanne Craig instead of Lorraine Craig (no such person here). I thanked all my church friends for cards, prayers and phone calls.
Kevin Allen stopped by Thursday night and Jaime Pratt came by on January 21, and left us some fresh eggs from Grammie Val’s hens and a pair of knitting needles for me. Thanks, Val.
It was quite a storm the other day and very cold on Saturday.
Russell is getting ready to go grocery shopping and I need to get this in the mail so it’s so long for now. Keep warm and healthy.
