Bryant Pond news

BRYANT POND — I would like to start this column with a big thank you to all who have been praying, sending cards or visiting me while in the hospital and rehab. Also a bigger thank you to our grandson Ray Crockett and his cousin Grayson Wakefield for helping build my ramp so I could get home. It worked great. It's good to be home again, but I had very good care and therapy at Norway Rehab.

Sunday services at the Baptist Church are Sunday School at 9:15 a.m., Morning Worship at 10:30 a.m. and Evening Service at 6 p.m. On Wednesday, the Prayer Meeting is at 6:30 p.m. Pastor Calvin Fuller is our minister at the present time until we get a full-time pastor. Upcoming events are the men's prayer breakfast on February 12 in the fellowship hall and at 5 p.m. there will be a chili cook-off. In March the date is not set yet for a pie contest for both men and women. A youth activity will be held at 4 p.m. on March 5.

If you have any news you want in the paper, please call Alice at 665-2460 or write to me at P.O. Box 105, Bryant Pond.

The Historical Society Museum has excellent exhibits and research materials. The Society hopes to begin meeting again in March, so do join them.

Vice President and Chairman of the Board Annella Burnham has raised funds to pay for a brick honoring the Historical Society near the telephone sculpture on the town common. Everyone who knows Annella is aware of her great dedication to the Society. Thanks, Annella.

Bryant Pond is an example of largely 19th century architecture. It has very fine public buildings in the village and a few mansions around the lake. Surrounding natural scenery is attractive to a fault. Look around sometime.
