South Woodstock news

SOUTH WOODSTOCK — Condolences to the families of George Curtis, Sr., Evelyn A. Gammon and Nancy Kennison Haines. Love and prayers to each family member.

Wow, guess we truly got an ole fashioned North Easter earlier this week, we got around 15 to 16 inches of snow here in our area. I can remember one of the biggest storms back in the early 1950s, those were the good ole days. And that's when we would have to go to school on Saturdays, to make up for school days lost. We sure didn't mind though, that way we could still get out of school when we were supposed to so as to start our summer vacation.

Celebrating January birthdays are Alice Allen, Kellie Allen, Bob Withee, Carol Kimball Cox, Tammy Eates, Sandy Landers, Jim Russell, Diane Hanscom, Evelyn Donovan, Arthur (Benny) Benedetto, Cheryl Carter, Kevin Fitzmorris, Rhonda Cossar and Theresa Seavey.

My mom (Louise B. Hemingway) would have been 92 on January 30. I love and miss you mom - RIP.

Yogi and I enjoyed a nice ride to Bridgton today, what a great day for a leisure ride.

No birds as yet to the feeders since the storm, but we have little to no protection for them as far as trees, only the three little blue spruce that Tom planted a year ago. There is a cat who wanders through our yard quite often, not sure who he belongs to or where he came from.

I wanted to send a photo of the beautiful sunset here today, but for some reason I can not get it to download to my computer. Maybe I can figure it out and send it for next week.

Get well wishes to Shirley B., Peggy R., Claribel P., Anne J., - guess the flu bug is making its rounds.

Quote by John Lennon: "Imagine all the people living life in peace. You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one. I hope someday you'll join us, and the world will live as one."
