Soccer jamboree held at Hebron

HEBRON – The Middle School at Hebron Academy recently hosted a middle school soccer jamboree, a season-ending event for the Pine Tree League soccer teams. Teams from Hebron, Durham, St. Dom’s and Raymond middle schools matched up against each other in a round robin format, which allowed each team to play each other at least once, and in some cases two times, in a series of 20-minute games. Hebron Academy Athletic Director Leslie Guenther, who organized the event, said, “It was a wonderful culminating event and a very positive way to end the season for each of our teams.”

Hebron Academy’s Associate Director of Admission Julie Middleton said, “With 150 middle school-aged children and their families on campus, there may have been close to 500 people enjoying a great day of soccer.” She went on to say, “Everyone was having a ball, and it was a great community event!”

Ryan Gleason, Assistant Principal at Durham Community School, said, “Our players, coaches, and parents had nothing but positive things to share about the day, and it was a great success!” It was a nice way for the middle schoolers to end the soccer season.

The Middle School at Hebron Academy is hosting an information session for its program on Tuesday, November 16 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. The school is celebrating 20 years as an independent day school for boys and girls in grades six to eight, inspiring and guiding each student to reach his or her highest potential in mind, body, and spirit since 1991.
