Hebron girls beat Tilton 3-1

TILTON, NH - Hebron Academy girls' varsity hockey team played the Tilton School recently with a final score of Hebron 3, Tilton 1.

First period goals, both for Hebron, were scored by Sarah Markey, assisted by Talya Bent, at 11:15 and Ally Strachan, assisted by Markey and Catherine Byrne, at 9:29 (power-play goal).

In the second period, Sara Grover scored for Hebron, assisted by Markey and Jenna Bosse, at 9:28.

In the third period, Katie Burke scored for Tilton, assisted by Victoria Sohn and Tianna Cass, at 0:40 (power play goal).

Hebron goalie  Mariah Mosher had 15 saves on 16 shots; Tilton's Brynna Bourbeau had 25 saves on 28 shots.

Hebron earned the win in their season-opener on the road against host Tilton School. Sarah Markey and Ally Strachan both scored goals in the first period to give the Lumberjacks the early lead, and Sara Grover's goal in the second period gave Hebron the 3-0 lead after two periods. In addition to her goal, Sarah Markey earned two assists while Talya Bent, Jenna Bosse and Catherine Byrne each added one. Mariah Mosher had 15 saves in goal, with Tilton's lone goal coming in the final minute of play on a power play.

Hebron's record is 1 - 0; Tilton's record is 0 - 1.
