Hebron girls lose to Governor's

HEBRON - Hebron Academy girls' varsity hockey team hosted Governor's Academy recently with a final score of Hebron 3, Governor's 6.

First period goals, both for Governor's Academy, were scored by Mary Leahy, assisted by Ann McDonough, at 3:22 and Jane Carpenter, unassisted, at 12:58 (short-handed).

In the second period, Leahy scored for Governor's Academy, assisted by Lynn Sullivan, at 5:42 (short-handed).

Third period goals were scored by Leahy for Governor's, assisted by Ann McDonough, at 1:12 (power-play); Amber Aaskov for Hebron, assisted by Chelsea Boucher and Jacki Aaskov, at 4:39; Sarah Markey for Hebron, assisted by Boucher, at 5:52; Lynn Sullivan for Governor's, assisted by Ann McDonough, at 9:56 (power-play 5 v. 3); Jane Carpenter for Governor's, assisted by Ann McDonough, at 10:42 (power-play) and Talya Bent for Hebron, assisted by Natalie Maciejewski, at 11:30.

Hebron goalie Kelli Klassen had 35 saves on 41 shots; Governor's Liz Conway had 27 saves on 30 shots. Hebron's record is now 2-1.
