Hebron boys' hockey defeats South Kent

HEBRON — Hebron Academy boys' varsity hockey hosted South Kent School recently with a final score of Hebron 5, South Kent 1.

In the first period, Alex Doumeng scored for Hebron, assisted by Chris Taylor and Todd Bannerman, at 11:49.

Second period goals were scored by Drake Hart for Hebron, assisted by Mike Settipani, at 15:05; Hart for Hebron, assisted by Chris Taylor, at 8:59 and Gostisbehre for South Kent, assisted by Gabrienk, at 7:17.

In the third period, Hart scored for Hebron, unassisted, at 9:00 and Settipani scored for Hebron, assisted by Andrew Crawford, at 6:52.

Hebron goalie Mike Messuri had 29 saves on 30 shots; South Kent goalie Manjava had 30 saves on 35 shots.

The Lumberjacks rebounded from their last second loss on Saturday evening by besting visiting South Kent 5-1 in the second game of their weekend series. Alex Doumeng put the first point on the board for Hebron midway through the first period, assisted by Chris Taylor and Todd Bannerman. Drake Hart scored two second period goals (assisted by Mike Settipani and Chris Taylor) to give Hebron a 3-1 lead heading into the final frame. Drake then added an unassisted goal with 9:00 minutes remaining in the game to extend the Hebron lead and Mike Settipani (assisted by Andrew Crawford) added a final goal just two minutes later.

Mike Messuri had an excellent game in goal.
