Hebron hockey bows to South Kent

HEBRON — Hebron Academy boys' varsity hockey team hosted South Kent School recently with a final score of Hebron 3, South Kent 4.

In the first period, Athanasopolous scored for South Kent, assisted by Anderson, at 16:25 and Chris Taylor scored for Hebron, assisted by Todd Bannerman, at 16:14.

Second period goals were scored by Joey Collins for Hebron, assisted by Shane Hearn and Mike Settipani, at 15:13; Manno for South Kent, assisted by Gostisbehere, at 14:51 and Andrew Graham for Hebron, assisted by Bannerman, at 8:15.

In the third period, goals for South Kent were scored by Gostisbehere, assisted by Florentino, at 5:40 and Magliano, assisted by Manno, at 0:01.

Hebron goalie Guillaume Belanger Therien had 30 saves on 34 shots; South Kent's Severson had 33 saves on 36 shots.

Hebron and South Kent played a fast-paced, closely contested game. Tied 1-1 after the first period, Hebron scored two second period goals to take a 3-2 lead into the final frame. South Kent scored the tying goal in the final five minutes of play and then netted the game-winner with only one second left on the clock. Chris Taylor, Joey Collins and Andrew Graham each scored for Hebron and Todd Bannerman (2), Mike Settipani and Shane Hearn each earned assists. Guillaume Belanger Therien had 30 saves in goal.
