  • Bryant Pond

    BRYANT POND — Sunday services at the Baptist Church are Sunday School at 9:15 a.m., Morning Worship at 10:30 a.m. and Evening Service at 6 p.m. Prayer meeting is at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The children's program will be December 16, at 6 p.m. and the candlelight service is December 23, at 6 p.m.

    The Woodstock Extension will meet on December 19, at Alice Hoyt's.

  • Norway Town Hall

    NORWAY — The Town Office will close at noon on Monday, December 24 and reopen at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, December 26 in observance of the Christmas Holiday.

    Dog licenses are in. All dogs six months of age or older must be licensed. Licenses expire December 31 and must be renewed yearly. You must bring a State of Maine Rabies Vaccination Certificate with you as well as a spay/neuter certificate if applicable.

    WEST SUMNER — I believe that you think I haven't felt like writing. The truth of the matter is that my old computer just quit working.

    I have had a new laptop given to me. Then I had to have a new printer. Everything takes time. Now I just have to learn how to use it.

    Thanksgiving has come and gone. Hope you all had a good one. Hunting season is over and Brent, Carol and Ben got their deer. Carol got a small 100-pound spikehorn.

    SOUTH WOODSTOCK — G' evening dear readers, sorry for no weekly column for the past three weeks - with all the bookings the band has to commit to and with the holiday and all.

    Condolences to the following families on the loss of their loved ones: Rodney Allen, Irene Richardson, Rita P. Wilson, Mary Robinson, Daniel J. Miclon, Barbara E. Roy, Duane Hayes and Joe Volkerneck. Thoughts and prayers to each family.

    Get well wishes are going out to Joyce Hathaway, Louise Guilford, Dotty Packard and Donna Palmer.

  • Norway Town Hall

    Fees are: $6 if the dog is spayed/neutered, $11 if not spayed/neutered. A late fee of $25 will be added to the license cost if the dog is not registered by January 31.

On December 11, the church will host the Planet and Root Maine Rally at 7 p.m. followed by fellowship time.     Tuesday, November 27, will be a ladies meeting at 9 a.m. for "coffee cup decorations." Looking ahead, there will be a meeting at 10 a.m. on December 1, to decorate the church for the Christmas season.

    NORTH NORWAY — Have been busy this morning places orders via the internet, my way of going shopping on Black Friday. I do not like the term black Friday and all too many of us go into the red on this day.

    Are you getting all those “Robo" calls? Have decided we have to develop diabetes so we can qualify for all that “free” stuff they insist on offering us. Have told them we have various ailments but diabetes is not among them.

    Franklin Grange 124 met on Monday, November 5, for a regular meeting at the Grange Hall. It was voted to hold one meeting a month during December, January and February.

  • Norway Town Hall

    NORWAY — Dog licenses are in; please license your dogs by December 31.

    The Town Office will be closed on Thursday and Friday, November 22 and 23, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

    The Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade is starting in Norway this year, so don’t miss it! On Saturday, November 24, at 11 a.m. the parade will step onto Main Street from Whitman Street and proceed toward South Paris. So Main Street will be closed for the parade just before 11 a.m. instead of around 1 p.m.
