Towns

  • North Norway

NORTH NORWAY — We were coming down Upton Brothers Road one day recently and were thrilled to see an Eagle sitting on a branch, king of all he surveyed. I know there are Eagles down on the lake but never saw one up there when we lived there.

  • South Woodstock

SOUTH WOODSTOCK — Good morning to all you readers; here is wishing you a great day and an even better weekend.

Condolences are going out to the families of Cole Roman Cushman, Enfield Herbert Wilson and Jim Gallant. Love and prayers to each family member on the loss of your loved one.

  • Education courses in Mexico

SOUTH WOODSTOCK — Good morning dear readers, a chilly one this morning of 28 degrees. The sun is out and shining nice and bright and warming up quite nicely, so enjoy your day to the fullest.

  • North Norway

NORTH NORWAY — I have been AWOL lately, sick and sick of myself. Nothing that I won't recover from but look out - I am cranky.

The bear made a second forage last night and bent an iron pole going after the suet. Dell brings in the feeders and suet every night now after the bear destroyed everything the first time. We figure some suet had melted on the pole and he was licking it. Sorry he is hanging around as we have to be so careful not to leave anything out.

  • Lovell

LOVELL — Callers at Rebecca Ring’s from April 5 to April 14 were Dick Price, Linda Drew and Sam Ring. Sam took pizza in on April 13, and had supper with her.

Heather Lang and I enjoyed a day out on April 8, in North Conway.

Heather Lang and Russ Allen went shopping in North Conway on April 8.

Dick Rice called on Jack and Beverly Bassett one evening recently.

  • South Woodstock

SOUTH WOODSTOCK — The morning started out fairly chilly but now with the sun up nice and bright it's up to 62 degrees on this beautiful Friday afternoon. Now this is truly what we all were waiting for. Sometimes Mother Nature just likes to keep us in check and throws things our way so as to keep us on our toes.

The first robin came yesterday in the late afternoon; he is back again today.

  • Lovell

LOVELL — On April 10 at the Lovell United Church of Christ, Souper Sunday was held at noon. This was organized by the Youth Group. People brought their favorite soup, chowder or stew for tasting, and the entries were judged for taste, ingredients and imagination. The $5 donation will go to the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.

  • Norway Town Hall

NORWAY — There will be a spring clean up at the Lovejoy Farm Sports Complex on April 16 and 17 from 8 a.m.-noon.
