Towns

  • LOVELL — On May 11, Vicky Meserve called on me and did my hair. Heather Lang called on Amy Sterns and family on May 11.

Belated happy birthday to Kathy Adams in Stoneham, and Dennis Buffington Jr. from Lovell.

If you receive the Sunday paper, please drop off or save your unused coupons for me as I clip them for eight families plus. Russell or Heather can pick them up if you can’t drop them off. I’d deeply appreciate it.

Meg Dyer went to Virginia to attend her niece’s college graduation from May 5, to her return home the evening of May 9.

My love and prayers are with my husband and all his family on the death of his brother, Ralph Hoyt. We would like to thank everyone for the cards and prayers during this time.

  • South Woodstock

SOUTH WOODSTOCK — Friday May 13, what a beautiful afternoon we are all enjoying. The temperature reads 71 degrees here at 3:45 p.m., and there is a light breeze so it makes for a perfect day. I got all the windows open and loving the fresh air as it circulates through the house.

I put a homemade bread pudding in to bake a bit ago and it's beginning to send out the delicious aromas so while waiting for it to finish baking I decided to sit and get my article written.

Condolences are going out to the family of Ralph Hoyt. Love and prayers to each family member.

  • Lovell news

LOVELL — After a good Mother’s Day, it’s back to the old Monday grind. Hope every mother had a good day.

May 29 is the Fryeburg Academy graduation. The following students are to be congratulated from Lovell: Peter Bacchiocchi, Lauren Brooking, Maddie Egan, Stefan Emery, Ashley Henschel, Anna Tupaj and Sara Williams. Lovell also has two students graduating from the University of Southern Maine: Bailey Brooking and Sarah Sawin. Congratulations to all and best wishes. On May 15, all of the above were honored at the Lovell United Church of Christ’s worship service.

  • Norway Town Hall

NORWAY — It is the time of year people will be asking for burn permits. The Maine Forest Service announces the class for the day, depending on wind conditions, etc. by 9 a.m. so please wait until after 9 a.m. to come to the town office to obtain a burning permit. You could also call ahead to see if the State will allow a permit for that day.

Taxes are due today, May 19.

  • North Norway

NORTH NORWAY — Taxes are paid for another six months so guess we know where we can sleep for a few weeks. Don't know as we appreciate all the hard work our town manager, selectmen and the budget committee put in. There are tough choices to be made and whatever is decided someone is going to put up a "holler."

  • South Woodstock

SOUTH WOODSTOCK — Condolences are going out to the families of June E. Wing and Phil Skinner. Love and prayers to each family member on the loss of their loved ones.

Irene Richardson celebrated her 81st birthday last week with family members Darlene and Rob and Marilyn and Raymond at Crosstone Restaurant. It was so nice to see her and the family.

Birthday wishes are going out to H. Craig Moore, Raynold McAllister and to Alice Kennison who will be 99 years young on May 27. We are wishing each of you a great and happy day.
