A reminder that taxes are due May 20.

Apr 18, 2013 12:00 amNORTH NORWAY — Spring seems to have sprung a leak. Rain, sleet and snow. Dell says he refuses to accept this but I don’t see what he can do about it. This morning the sunrise was a beautiful deep red and magenta and the old saying “Sailor take warning” is certainly borne out today.
Monday we went to the AARP meeting and had a nice meal and an informative talk by an elder law attorney. We all learned a lot and it sure is scary out there when one becomes old.

The Spring Cleanup of the Lovejoy Farm Sports Complex is Saturday, April 13 from 8 a.m.-noon. Rain date is Sunday, April 14. Please come help ready the ball fields for the upcoming seasons.
The Norway Recreation Department Tee-ball deadline to sign up is April 15.

We traveled to Hallowell last Saturday to attend the wedding of Shannon Donovan and Paul Puiia. It was a great day for a drive and an awesome day for a beautiful wedding. The wedding was held at the Maple Inn, what a gorgeous place and setting for a wedding.

Apr 11, 2013 12:00 amNORTH NORWAY — Watching TV I found out what my problem is, the low energy and lethargy that bedevils my waking hours. It has to be low “T” that they describe in the commercials.
A shot of testosterone is all I need. So I grow a beard and develop a deep voice. It would be a fair exchange for some energy. Here is spring cleaning beckoning and all the outdoor chores that follow and with a shot of “T” I would be able to whisk through all challenges. But my idea of housework is to sweep the room with a glance.

Apr 11, 2013 12:00 amBRYANT POND — Sunday services at the Baptist Church are Sunday School at 9:15 a.m., Morning Worship at 10:30 a.m. and Evening Service at 6 p.m. Midweek service is at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Sunday, April 28, is Love Your Church Sunday.
We will be celebrating our church's 157th birthday. We will be taking a special offering for the building fund. There will be a special birthday cake following the evening service. Everyone is invited to attend. Both the sunrise service and the 10:30 a.m. service were very well attended on Easter Sunday.

Apr 04, 2013 12:00 amWEST SUMNER — The Sumner Volunteer Fire Department is looking for new members. They have meetings the second Monday of every month at the town office at 6 p.m.
Their chief concern is to raise money to help buy needed equipment for the fire department. They have bought special chainsaws and the Heli Pad which sits behind the fire station.

Franklin Grange 124 met at the hall on Saturday, March 16, with guests from Norway Grange present. Members sick were Bertha DeHaas and Sharon Silver. Cards were written.
