  • South Woodstock

SOUTH WOODSTOCK — G' morning to all our readers. It's a great sunny day here on this Friday (September 14). Beautiful blue skies and temps in the low 50's. Birds are busy at the feeders and enjoying the sun.

Get well wishes and many prayers are going out to our friend, (Ellsworth) Willy Hathaway. He is having some medical issues and he and his family need our prayers. Get well soon Willy, hoping to see you out and about real soon.

The Town Office will be closed on Monday, October 8, in observance of Columbus Day.

  • North Norway

NORTH NORWAY — The swamp maples are turning color and the ash tree outside my window is shedding leaves. Dell just came in and described a brown and black fuzzy caterpillar to me and asked what kind of winter it foretold. Beats me.

If the cat grows an extra thick coat I figure it will be cold. In Maine you cannot go wrong if you predict cold, snow and some ice. It has been just perfect to sit out on the porch and watch the world go by these last few days. Sweater weather with practically no humidity.

  • South Woodstock

SOUTH WOODSTOCK — Condolences are going out to the families of Ernest Angevine, Oliver I. Blood, Sr., Rufus S. Rich and Martha Tilda Koskela Lavoir. Thoughts and prayers to each family member.

A good week all around, getting back onto my feet slowly, still seeing the doctor three times a week.

Celebrating birthdays in September are Linnie Roberts, Robert Hurd, Lloyd Poland, Becky Mason, Kenny Wilson, Cathy Mason, Lj Langelier and Mike Lakey. Birthday wishes to each one.

  • West Sumner

WEST SUMNER — I called Linda Richardson and she told me about the Morrill reunion held at Larry Litchfield's home on Sunday, September 2. That would be Caroline's side of the family.

There were over 100 relatives there with lots of children. They stayed outdoors and played horseshoes, badminton, volley ball and other games. There was a lot of visiting going on.

A feast of lobster, clams, steak, chicken and just way too much food was served. That is a reunion that I want to go to. People came from Massachusetts and surrounding towns.

  • North Norway

NORTH NORWAY — This will be short today. Do not know how long I will be on-line. Evidently we are receiving a weak signal and Time Warner is going to fix things today warning me I may be off-line for awhile.

Have been having such fun. Thought it must be my fault until I had the brilliant idea of calling our provider.
