  • South Woodstock

SOUTH WOODSTOCK — Friday, April 26, G'morning to all my readers. It's a great sunny day here with temps hitting 40 degrees and rising with beautiful blue skies. The birds are so enjoying their breakfast and the warm sun.

I want to wish Anne Sheehan the very best in her move to the Southern state that she has decided to make her new home. She will be missed and it was my pleasure to have known her and worked with her. Good luck, Anne.

  • North Norway

NORTH NORWAY — At last it feels like spring. This full moon has the cats awake and lively all night. Our cat was trying to get us up to play with her and my sister, Mary said her cats did the same. Now all are fast asleep. Dell has been to his exercise regime at the physical therapy department and returned for the stuff for recycling and burning or whatever they do with garbage. Words like Dump and Garbage are not PC anymore. I make a lot of boo boos I know.

  • West Sumner

WEST SUMNER — The Town of Sumner was in shock Sunday, April 14, when the news of Clifford Lowe's death became known. He had not been sick and had worked all day Saturday.

He had always said he would work right up until he died and he did. Clifford has done much for the Town of Sumner, plowing the roads for 54 years. He will surely be missed.

I went to the funeral and it was packed. Cars were lined up on both sides of the road a long ways. That tells me that Clifford was well liked.

  • South Woodstock

SOUTH WOODSTOCK — Sorry that there has been no column for the past couple of weeks. My e-mail program was not functioning and I was not able to send or receive any e-mails. I had to uninstall the whole program in order for the e-mail program to work again. So I'm hoping and praying this will reach the office desk in time for publication.

Condolences to the following families on their recent loss of a loved one - Nellie Swan, Beryl Hall, Celia Jacobson, Clifford Lowe, Mildred Dresser and Tove L. Westleigh. Thoughts and prayers to each family member.

  • West Sumner

WEST SUMNER — The scene was a mock wedding at the Legion Hall in Locke Mill on Saturday night, April 6. It was Paul and Pauline Kirschner's 50th wedding anniversary. Approximately 175 guests had gathered to congratulate them.

"Little" Jane was the father of the bride holding a shotgun, dressed appropriately. Marilyn Hammond was the preacher. Sons-in-law, Mark and Scot, were the mothers. Paula, Paulette and Patty were the ushers. There were special grandmothers also.
