  • North Norway

NORTH NORWAY — I did you the honor of getting dressed this morning before beginning this column and I look pretty spiffy as I had my hair cut and styled yesterday. Too bad it won’t last long.

  • South Woodstock

SOUTH WOODSTOCK — Good morning to y'all. It's a beautiful sunny morning with the thermometer reading 58 degrees and the sky is beautiful blue with lots of puffy white clouds. I so love the sky and all its cloud patterns.

The band is playing at the American Legion in Rumford today for the Widow and Widowers group.

Lolalee & The Country Bandits played for the St. Anne Sodality group in Lewiston, Thursday evening. It was a great time and we so enjoyed meeting some of the members and chatting with them afterwards.

  • West Sumner

WEST SUMNER — My 16th great-grandchild was born on May 7, to Ben and Gretchen Hadley. Paige Avery arrived, weighing eight pounds and two ounces. Mother and baby came home from the hospital on Thursday and are doing fine.

Another great-grandchild is due in June, making 17. I can hardly keep track of their birthdays anymore. I do try to make each one a quilt.

Condolences to the families of Barbara Immonen and Erma Hatch. Thoughts and prayers to each family.

Several towns fought a woods fire here in the valley Wednesday afternoon. Burning over 10 plus acres before it was all watered down.
