OXFORD — Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met Friday, May 27 at 9:15 a.m. at the Rec. building on King St. in Oxford. A five and a half table quarterly club championship Howell movement was enjoyed.
Finishing first in flight A were Jim Krainin (Naples) and Milt McKeem (Bridgton), who also were first in flight B and C.

Raymond Casco Historical Society
May 26, 2011 12:00 amRAYMOND/CASCO — The Raymond Casco Historical Society’s Museum will be open for the season on Wednesday, May 25 and will remain open until Columbus Day. The hours are Wednesday 1- 3 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. and Sunday from 1 – 3 p.m. The museum is located on Route 302 in South Casco just a few miles from the Casco/Naples town line. It’s easy to find; just look for the long red barn with the mural of yesteryear in the side. There is plenty of parking and it’s free. Plan on bringing the whole family.
Bethel Historical Society to hold 14th Annual St. Never’s Day Sale
May 23, 2011 2:15 pmBETHEL — Bethel Historical Society’s 14th Annual St. Never’s Day Sale will be held on Saturday, May 28 under the tent on Stan Howe’s lawn at the corner of Mason and Broad Street from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Donations of household goods, furniture, tools, dishes, books, etc. in good condition are being sought for the sale, which benefits the Society. Please no clothing, tires, computers, etc. or other unsalable items.
Murals subject of talk

Radcliffe, an art historian and museum collections specialist, and Linda Carter Lefko, a historic decorative painter, will present an illustrated talk about their research on the "Rufus Porter Landscape Mural School" at the Bethel Historical Society. Following their 7:30 p.m. presentation, they will autograph copies of their new book on the subject, "Folk Art Murals of the Rufus Porter School: New England Landscapes 1825-1845."
County Democrats meet

Rosa Scarcelli of Portland will be the speaker as part of the Oxford County Democrat's Rising Stars Series. Rosa Scarcelli, a Wilton native, is best known for her impressive showing in the 2010 Maine Democratic Gubernatorial Primary. She is the CEO of Stanford Management, a company that employs more than 115 people and provides quality affordable housing to thousands of residents, and is a wife and mother of three children.
