  • Hebron JV boys win over St. Dom's

    HEBRON — Hebron Academy boys' JV hockey team hosted St. Dom's recently with a final score of Hebron 6, St. Dom's 2.

    First period goals, all for Hebron, were scored by Jake Bosse, unassisted, at 24:51; Dave Mavrovic, assisted by Tom Cummings, at 19:03; Mavrovic, assisted by Alex Alexanderov, at 14:25; Mavrovic, assisted by Mike Bouchard and Bosse, at 13:38 and Sam Kinasewich, unassisted, at 2:09.

  • Hebron girls defeat Kents Hill

    HEBRON — Hebron Academy girls' varsity basketball team hosted Kents Hill School recently with a final score of Hebron 41, Kents Hill 22.

  • Snowshoe hikes to summit planned at Mushers Bowl

    BRIDGTON — Don’t let the dogs have all the winter fun on Mushers Bowl weekend. Winter is a great time to take a hike. Bundle up, grab a friend or two, and join Loon Echo Land Trust for a moderate snowshoe hike to the summit of Bald Pate Mountain. Participants will see animal tracks and great views that aren’t available at other times of the year. There will be a hike on both days, January 22 and 23, beginning at 10 a.m. The hikes take approximately two hours.

  • Oxford Hills Christian Academy

    POINT — Rachel Marston, #33, spikes the ball over the net for a point in a volleyball game against Open Door Christian Academy. The Oxford Hills Christian Academy Eagles went on to win the game.

  • Fishing derby planned

    BRYANT POND — An Ice Fishing Derby will be held at Lake Christopher and surrounding ponds on Saturday, January 8, 2011. There will be prizes for the heaviest fish: trout - $100; salmon - $100; cusk - $50 and pickerel - $50. Preregister at J&K Sporting Goods in West Paris or Doe's Variety in South Paris; cost is $5 per person. Participants can also register the day of the derby until 10 a.m. Final weigh-in is at 3:30 p.m. There will also be a 50/50 raffle and prizes will be drawn at final weigh-in. Hot food and beverages will also be available.

  • New outdoor center to participate in Winter Trails Day

    NEWRY — This winter, the new Sunday River Outdoor Center will participate in the 16th annual Winter Trails Day on Saturday, January 8, by offering free cross country ski rentals, snowshoe rentals and trail passes.

    Winter Trails Day involves almost 100 resorts and nordic centers nationwide, and gets over 11,000 kids and adults on the snow each year.

  • Hebron girls win over Buckfield

    HEBRON — Hebron Academy girls' varsity basketball team hosted Buckfield High School recently with a final score of Hebron 25, Buckfield 23.

  • Hebron boys win over Citadel

    HEBRON — Hebron Academy boys' JV Hockey team hosted Citadel High School recently with a final score of Hebron 2, Citadel 1.

    First period goals, both for Hebron, were scored by Matt Bouchard, unassisted, at 0:20 and Brandon Korytko, assisted by Bouchard and Robbie Berube, at 8:30.

    In the second period, Andrew McNeil scored for Citadel, assisted by Riley Cameron, at 1:40.

  • Hebron girls' hockey wins over Gunnery

    WASHINGTON, CT — Hebron Academy girls' varsity hockey team played at the Gunnery School recently with a final score of Hebron 3, Gunnery 2.

    In the first period, Chelsea Boucher scored for Hebron, assisted by Amber Aaskov and Ally Strachan, at 1:38.

    In the second period, Sara Grover scored for Hebron, unassisted, at 8:42.

    Third period goals were scored by Laura Reckdewald for Gunnery, assisted by Emily Seguin, at 9:17; Seguin for Gunnery, assisted by Reckdenwald, at 4:15 and Sara Grover for Hebron, assisted by Jackie Aaskov, at 4:08.
