    HEBRON — Hebron Academy girls’ varsity basketball team hosted Seacoast recently with a final score of Hebron 53, Seacoast 52.

  • Hebron 'B' hockey bested by Bridgton

    HEBRON — Hebron Academy boys “B” hockey team hosted Bridgton “B” hockey recently with a final score of Hebron 2, Bridgton 3.

    In the first period, Cobb scored for Bridgton, assisted by Gendron, at 15:05.

    In the second period, Billingham scored for Bridgton, assisted by Gendron, at 3:01 short-handed; Zach Day scored for Hebron, assisted by Sam Blanchet, at 5:30; Cobb scored for Bridgton, assisted by Cushing, at 7:21 short-handed and Sam Blanchet scored for Hebron, unassisted, at 1:16 on a power play goal.

    FREEPORT — Hebron Academy girls' varsity basketball team played at Pine Tree Academy recently with a final score of Hebron 45, PTA 29.

  • Air Rifle Biathlon set at Roberts Farm

    NORWAY — The Western Foothills Land Trust will host its first event on the new Nordic trails at Roberts Farm Preserve in Norway with the Southern Maine Biathlon Club on Sunday, January 30.

    The Club, which was formed to promote the sport within Maine, will provide six air rifles and will offer a morning biathlon clinic for participants from 10 a.m. to noon. As these rifles are a major investment, this is a great opportunity for Nordic skiers to experience and enjoy a biathlon.

  • Roberts Farm trails ready for skiing

    NORWAY — Ken’s Yamaha, The Norway Trackers Snowmobile Club, and the Western Foothills Land Trust recently combined resources to create a new snow grooming option that will be more adaptive to the vagaries of climate change. Ken Gammon’s ATV Rhino is now on snow treads and hydraulically fitted to tow either the Trackers' drag or the Land Trust's Nordic track setter. This is a much more flexible set up than using the Club's old Tucker to groom.

  • Maine Hoops announces tryouts

    WATERVILLE — Maine Hoops Basketball Club announces tryouts for its AAU teams. Maine Hoops is Maine’s largest basketball club and will be having tryout and teams in both Southern and Central Maine this year. All players attending tryouts will be placed on a team.

    Central Maine information — Maine Hoops will have complete access to the totally renovated Gilman Street School gymnasium in Waterville. Tryouts will be held at Colby College in Waterville on February 12, for girls and February 13, for boys.

    HEBRON — Hebron Academy will host the "Hebron Hills Snowshoe Classic" charity race on Sunday, January 30, to benefit the Friends of the Little Field Home orphanage in Malawi, Africa.
