  • Norway ball registration opens

    NORWAY — The Norway Recreation Department and Norway Youth Baseball are teaming up to offer registration times for baseball, softball and Tee-ball. Join in at the Norway Town Office on Wednesday, March 9 from 5-6:30 p.m., Saturday, March 12 from 10 a.m. to noon or Wednesday, March 16 from 5-6:30 p.m. Parents are asked to attend one of these times to obtain important information for their child’s athletic activity.

  • Harrison derby winner

  • Hebron girls 3-1 over New Hampton

    HEBRON — Hebron Academy girls' varsity hockey team hosted New Hampton School recently with a final score of Hebron 3 New Hampton 1.

  • Hebron boys tie Tilton

    HEBRON — Hebron Academy boys' varsity hockey team hosted the Tilton School recently with a final score of Hebron 1, Tilton 1 (OT).

    In the first period, Jim McCormick scored for Tilton, assisted by Andy Brochmann, at 1:52 on a power play.

    In the third period, Joe Collins scored for Hebron, assisted by Drake Hart, at 1:44.

    Tilton scored a power play goal in the final two minutes of play in the first period and the visiting Hornets held that lead until Joe Collins found the net for the Lumberjacks with 1:44 left on the clock.

  • Hebron boys 3-2 over Berwick

    HEBRON — Hebron Academy boys' varsity hockey team hosted Berwick Academy recently with a final score of Hebron 3 Berwick 2.

    The lone second period goal was scored by James Winkler for Berwick, assisted by Luke Bennett, at 8:33.

  • Paris opens baseball, softball registration

    SOUTH PARIS — The Town of Paris Parks & Recreation will be holding baseball and softball registrations for the 2011 season at the town office on Saturday, March 5 from 9 a.m.–12 noon.

    There will be a second registration date on Wednesday, March 9 from 6–8 p.m. Registration is open for all boys and girls ages four to 15 and includes the levels of t-ball, Cal Ripken rookies, Minors, Majors and Babe Ruth baseball and softball.

  • Hebron boys over New Hampton, 4-3

    HEBRON — Hebron Academy boys' varsity hockey team hosted New Hampton School recently with a final score of Hebron 4, New Hampton 3.

    The lone first period goal was scored by Josh Brodeur for Hebron, assisted by Peter Quigley, at 0:29.

    In the second period, goals were scored by Mike Settipani for Hebron at 1:19; Shane Hearn for Hebron, assisted by Nick Owen and Brodeur, at 4:32; Dane Caracino for New Hampton, assisted by Trevor Paquet, at 9:05 on a power play goal and Paquet for New Hampton, assisted by John Humphrey, at 11:05 on a power play goal.

  • Basketball clinic offered at CMCC

    AUBURN — The Central Maine Community College women’s and men’s basketball teams are sponsoring a free basketball clinic for boys and girls grades three to six on Saturday, March 12, at the college. CM basketball players will be on hand to teach skills and play games with the participants.

  • Youth ice fishing at Winter Fest

    HARRISON — The Friendly Village of Harrison Winter Fest, featuring the second annual Family Ice Fishing Derby, will be held February 25, 26 and 27.
