  • Hebron boys lacrosse defeats Hyde

    HEBRON — Hebron Academy boys' varsity lacrosse team hosted the Hyde School recently with a final score of Hebron 13, Hyde 6.

  • Winning game

    SAFE — OHCHS varsity baseball player Jake Plummer is declared safe after slidding into 3rd at the 2nd winning game of the season against Edward Little of Auburn making last Friday them 2 and 0 for the season.

  • Second win

    THE WIND-UP — OHCHS varsity softball pitcher Heather Verrier pitches in a strike during a win against Edward Little last Friday afternoon. This is the 2nd consecutive win for the girls.

  • NASCAR star Busch returns to TD Bank 250

    OXFORD — Kyle Busch made quite an impression in his first two TD Bank 250 attempts.

    In 2005, he led the race twice for a total of 61 laps. In 2006, Busch looked poised to win the event when his motor expired while leading the event.

    Kyle is coming back and will be looking for a victory in 2011.

  • Hebron JV tennis sweeps Berwick

    BERWICK — Hebron Academy's Alex Guay, Chris Taylor and Guillaume Belanger-Therien all earned their first singles wins of the season as the Lumberjacks went on the road to win their second match in as many attempts. Traveling to Berwick, the Lumberjacks held strong in the doubles as well to earn the 5-0 victory.

  • Hebron's varsity tennis scores win

    BETHEL — On Wednesday, April 20, Hebron Academy's varsity tennis team was victorious over Gould Academy with a match score of 3-2. Hebron's pre-match record was 2-0; Gould's was 1-1.

  • Maine Hoops seeks nominations

    OAKLAND — Maine Hoops is proud to announce a unique opportunity for top boys and girls basketball players entering grades seven to nine. This week-long overnight camp is an invite-only camp, which will combine outstanding basketball training during the day with much-needed leadership training during the evening. The camp will be housed at scenic Camp Tracy on McGrath Pond in Oakland.

  • Basketball to benefit Relay For Life

    SOUTH PARIS — The Relay for Life of Oxford Hills is hosting a Co-Ed 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament on Saturday, May 14 at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School. Teams from all over Maine are invited to participate. Registration fee is $50 for a team of five (three males and two females). Participants receive a T-shirt if registered by May 1. Trophies will be awarded to the winning team. Raffles and refreshments will be available at the event.

  • 4-H leaders plan walk-a-thon

    OXFORD — The Oxford County 4-H Leaders Association is doing its second annual Walk-a-Thon on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at the Oxford County Fairgrounds racetrack. Come join in from 9 a.m. to noon and meet some of the 4-H members.

    The money raised is used to provide 4-H Youth Development opportunities to young people. Some of the 4-H programs are environmental education, community service, animal studies, leadership skills, group interaction, arts, safety awareness, and much, much more.
