  • Campbell to sign Nascar book

    NORWAY - NASCAR writer George Campbell, who recently debuted his new book, "Busch North Scene: The Busch Years" will be signing copies of his new bookat Books N Things on Main Street in Norway from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday December 18. The store will carry the book on its shelves through the holiday season as well.

  • Western Maine basketball

    GUARDING — In the Western Maine Youth Travel Basketball League the Oxford Hills 5/6 grade boys are 1-1. They lost their first game 37-40 to AYS and won their second game 57-7 vs. Monmouth. Leading scorers vs. AYS were Matthew Fleming 19 and Chris St. Pierre 8. In the Monmouth game Chris St. Pierre scored 16 and Will Dieterich scored 14.

    Wilton 56 (1-0) Oak Hill 51 (0-1)

    Among the scorers for Wilton were Marshall Doyon, Damion O'Brien and  George Edmunds, each with 14 points. Scorers for Oak Hill included Cohen Donnell  and AJ Redmun, each with 11 points and Darryn Bailey with nine points.

    Lewiston 28 (1-0) Dixfield 20 (0-1)

  • Hebron hockey scores win over Berwick

    HEBRON — Hebron Academy boys' B hockey team hosted Berwick Academy recently with a final score of Hebron 9, Berwick 0

    In the first period, Alex Alexanderov scored, unassisted, at 10:51. In the second period, goals were scored by Ollie Knight-Roulea, unassisted, at 6:59; Zach Miller, unassisted, at 9:22 and Nikita Klinisovs, assisted by Nico Manganiello, at 12:15.

  • Wrestling coach predicts winning record, state qualifiers

    OXFORD — The high school wrestling team is moving in the right direction. This year the number of wrestlers on the team is at a four-year high.

    We have a lot of freshmen that have moved up from the middle school to boost our numbers, and we only had one senior graduate last year.

    Jake Hall, Justin Cummings, and Dustin Edwards are back this year as returning varsity and represent us as team captains.

    Jon Hankey and Ena Farrar, also returning varsity, should have a productive year.

  • OHMS boys get overtime win

    LEWISTON — Oxford Hills Middle School eighth grade boys basketball team played Lewiston recently with a final score of Oxford Hills 53 Lewiston 48 in overtime.

    Leading scorers for OHMS were Andrew Fleming with 23 points and Jake Beauchesne with 13 points. For Lewiston, Nate Allen and Fahad Shariff each had 11 points.

    Oxford Hills now has a record of 2-0; Lewiston's record is 0-1.

  • OHMS basketball

    BLOCK — Oxford Hills Middle School 8th grader Andrew Fleming blocks a shot by a Lewiston player. Fleming scored a game high 23 points in the game.
