  • OHMS boys still undefeated

    AUBURN — Oxford Hills Middle School eight grade boys basketball team played at Auburn recently with a final score of Oxford Hills 57 Auburn 47.

    Leading scorers for Oxford Hills were Andrew Fleming with 30 points, Blake Slicer with 14 points and Jake Beauchesne with 11 points. For Auburn, scorers included CJ Jipson with 14 points and Austin Cox with 10 points.

    Oxford Hills has record of 7-0; Auburn has a record of 3-3.

  • Hebron Academy announces athletic award recipients

    HEBRON — Hebron Academy Athletic Director Leslie Guenther is pleased to announce the school’s Fall 2011 Athletic Award recipients. The Academy enjoyed another successful season of competitive play with MAISAD championships in boys’ and girls’ varsity soccer, varsity field hockey and boys’ junior varsity soccer.

    DEFENSE — Bailey West, 8th grader at Oxford Hills Middle School,  plays a great defense during the Oxford Hills vs Brunswick game recently.

  • OH girls win over Oak Hill

    AREA — In a third/fourth grade girls game in the Central Maine basketball league, Oxford Hills defeated Oak Hill, 49 to 24.

    Oxford Hills scorers included Julz Colby with 19 points, Cecelia Dieterich with 12 points and Maggie Hartnett six points.

    For Oak Hill, scorers included Desirae Dumais with 18 points and Skye Rodgers with four points. Oxford Hills' record is 5-0; Oak Hill's record is 1-4.

  • Boosters plan Hooker Memorial

    SOUTH PARIS — The Oxford Hills Athletic Boosters has spent the past several months organizing and preparing a project that will become the Jimmy Hooker Memorial.

    Through discussions with the Hooker family and the Boosters Board of Directors, it has been decided that they will build dugouts at the softball and baseball fields at the Oxford Hills Middle School. Each dugout will have a plaque dedicating it to the memory of Jimmy Hooker and his involvement with sports in the community.

  • OHCHS girl skiers finish first

    FARMINGTON — The Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School nordic ski team girls finished first out of six teams and the boys, second out of six teams in the first race of the season at Titcomb Mt. in Farmington January 11.

    A very good showing for the first race of the year considering the skiers had only been on snow five times prior to this race.

    For the boys, Jesse Newcomb came in fifth, Jeremy Read came in sixth and Forrest Todd came in seventh. Other skiers were Dan Costanzi (10th), Kelynn LaLiberte (14th) and Zach Hebert (28th).
