  • NPFG trap shooting range

    SOUTH PARIS — The Norway-Paris Fish & Game Association has the new trap range open. The voice activated trap is open every Wednesday at 2 p.m. and Sunday morning at 8 a.m. All are welcome to come up and shoot or just share stories by the wood stove in the new clubhouse, 744 Buckfield Road, Route 117 in South Paris.

    Please check the website, www.npfg.org, for upcoming events including the annual fishing derby scheduled for February 25 and 26 at the Little Red School, Route 118 on Norway Lake.

  • Super Bowl skate fest set

    HARRISON — Harrison Recreation and Harrison Youth Boosters are sponsoring their annual Super Bowl Skate Fest for all Harrison residents at the Bridgton Academy Ice Arena on Sunday, February 5 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. This is a free event. Assorted size skates will be available or bring your own. Skate sharpening is $4 for hockey skates and $5 for figure skates. Children ages eight and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and helmets are highly recommended.

  • Bridgton Ice hours

    BRIDGTON — Public skating will be held at the Bridgton Academy Ice Arena on the following dates and times: Friday, February 3, Stick ‘n Puck from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. and helmets required during this; Saturday, February 4, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, February 11, from 4 to 6 p.m.; Sunday, February 5, from 12 to 2 p.m. and Sunday, February 12, from 3 to 5 p.m.; Tuesday, February 7 and 14, from 12 to 2 p.m. The prices are $4 for adults, $3 for students in grades one-12, $2 for children under six and seniors 62 or older, $5 for Stick ‘n Puck and $4 for rentals.

  • Youth basketball results

    AREA — In the Western Maine Youth Basketball League, Lewiston defeated Oxford Hills 43 to 37 in a fifth/sixth grade boys' game. Leading scorers for Lewiston included Brock Belanger with 11 points and Jeremy Madore with 10 points. For Oxford Hills, scorers included Colton Carson with 15 points and Matt Fleming with 11 points. Lewiston has a record of 6-1; Oxford Hills has a record of 2-5.

  • Freshman boys lose

    TOPSHAM — Oxford Hills boys freshman basketball team played at Mt. Ararat recently with a final score of 28 -43. For OHCHS, Patrick Macro led with 12 points and Brennan Gillespie with eight points.

  • OHMS boys continue undefeated

    SOUTH PARIS — The eighth grade boys basketball team won a thriller Tuesday night to keep their undefeated league record intact. The game was played at Oxford Hills Middle School in front of a packed gym.

    The game had a playoff atmosphere and the teams did not disappoint. The Vikings beat Lewiston in overtime 45 to 41. The Vikings also had to go to overtime against Lewiston earlier in the season to win at Lewiston.
