  • Auditions set for kids variety show

    SEBAGO LAKE — The Schoolhouse Arts Center at Sebago Lake is holding auditions for Truly Talented Kids Variety Show on March 26 and March 27 from 1-4 p.m.

    Truly Talented Kids is a variety show featuring performers ages 19 and younger. The show will feature solo acts, group acts, and large production numbers including an all-cast finale. Think Broadway, Glee, America’s Got Talent, etc.

  • Jorgenson to appear in Fryeburg

    FRYEBURG — Legendary musician John Jorgenson will appear at Fryeburg Academy on Thursday, April 14.

    As one of the pioneers of American gypsy jazz music, Jorgenson is celebrating the father of gypsy jazz, Django Reinhardt, whose 100th birthday would have been this year, with two album releases and a touring schedule that takes him across the country and across the pond with the John Jorgenson Quintet.

  • BRIDGTON — The Bridgton Art Guild is pleased to host a selection of student work February 26 - March 18 at Gallery 302 in Bridgton. Art students from Lake Region High School, Fryeburg Academy, Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School and the University of Southern Maine will exhibit drawings, paintings, photographs, prints and three-dimensional pieces.

  • My Mother, My Father... opens at Schoolhouse Arts Center

    SEBAGO LAKE — The Schoolhouse Arts Center at Sebago Lake will present Mike Harris performing his one-man show, "My Mother, My Father and My Mother," on March 18 and 19. Mike Harris is a humorist, a storyteller and an entertainer who has been performing up and down the east coast of the U.S. and Canada for over a decade. He has been collecting anecdotes all his life and he has been telling his true-to-life stories to anyone who will listen. As Mike says, “I don’t tell jokes. I just tell people what happens and they laugh at me.”

  • Open Mic in Norway

    NORWAY — Norway Open Mic Night, hosted by Vessel Recordings artist Heather Pierson, will be held this Friday, February 25, at the First Universalist Church, 479 Main St. in Norway.   • Laugh In at Schoolhouse Arts Center

    SEBAGO LAKE — Schoolhouse Arts Center at Sebago Lake will present "Rowan and Martin’s Laugh In," directed by Keith Halliburton, from April 1 through April 17. "Rowan and Martin’s Laugh In" is a fast-paced adaptation of the television show that appeals to all tastes and ages and is an evening of hilarity and wholesome fun for everyone. N.Y. Times says it’s “A swinging version of Hellzapoppin.”

  • Burt & Me at Deertrees

    HARRISON — "Burt & Me," a brand-new musical comedy from Philadelphia featuring the music of Burt Bacharach, will be presented at Deertrees Theater in Harrison August 10-14.

    Based on the book by Larry McKenna, the show includes music by Burt Bacharach with lyrics by Hal David. The show stars Zack Jackson, Jodie Lupo, Michael Hogan, Jordi Wallen and Dave Scheffler.

  • Wizard of Oz to be presented

    GRAY — Tickets are on sale now for "The Wizard of Oz." Children and adults will enjoy this well-loved full-length producing featuring over 60 talented kids aged five through 16.

    Tickets are $9/$6 and are available on-line at www.fiddleheadcenter.org and at the door. Performances are Saturdays on March 19 and 26 at 7 p.m. with Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. on March 20 and 27 at 2 p.m. at the GNG High School theater.

  • Calling all artists for the Moore Park Show

    SOUTH PARIS — The Moore Park Art Show in South Paris is seeking exhibitors for a celebration and sale of original arts, Saturday, August 13, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Rain date August 14). The day will feature 60 artists and artisans with live entertainment and fine fare. The event is presented by the Town of Paris, Parks and Recreation Department and sponsored by the Western Maine Art Group and the Mahoosuc Arts Council.

  • Arts in Motion presents 'The Fantasticks'

    FRYEBURG — Arts in Motion, in collaboration with Dollars for Scholars Mount Washington Valley Chapter, is proud to present America’s most loved musical, "The Fantasticks." Performances will take place Friday, February 18 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, February 19 at 2 p.m. at the Leura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center in Fryeburg, and Saturday, February 26 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, February 27 at 2 p.m. at Kennett High School’s Lloynd Auditorium in North Conway, NH.
