  • Lake Region presents Cinderella

    HARRISON — Lake Region Community Theatre will present "Cinderella," the Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II musical treatment of the romantic fairy tale this weekend and next at Deertrees Theatre in Harrison.

  • Applications sought for artists, artisans, food vendors

    SOUTH PARIS — The Moore Park Art Show in South Paris is seeking fine artist and artisan exhibitors, food vendors and community groups for a celebration and sale of original arts, Saturday, August 13 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Rain date August 14). The 43rd anniversary show will feature 60 artists and artisans with live entertainment and fine fare. The event, presented by the Town of Paris, Parks and Recreation Department, is sponsored by the Western Maine Art Group and the Mahoosuc Arts Council.

  • Encore performance planned at Denmark Art Center

    DENMARK — Due to public outcry and demand from standing ovation crowds, there will be an encore performance of "Coupla White Chicks Sitting Around Talking," by John Ford Noonan, on Friday, June 24, at 7:30 p.m. This contemporary, two-act comedy stars Denmark's Laurie Lamountain and Raja Michelle and is directed by Bridgton's Elizabeth Roth.

  • Karen Montanaro, world renowned mimedancer, kicks off the Norway Arts Festival

    SOUTH PARIS —  On Thursday, July 7, the Norway Arts Festival is pleased to present Karen Montanaro at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School, in the Forum. This year’s focus figure, Tony Montanaro, will be celebrated with a story telling performance by his loving wife, Karen Montanaro. An evening not to be missed, Karen will present a dance piece followed by a short discussion about Tony’s influence on her work as a dancer and performer.

  • Studio Art classes scheduled at WMAG

    NORWAY — Western Maine Art Group, located at 480 Main Street, Norway, is partnering with Gail Rein to offer special Art Classes, Art Studio Guild Style. The Studio Art courses begin June 20 and 21.

  • MPBN presents auction and art show

    LEWISTON — Maine Public Broadcasting Network's 10th annual Juried Art Show & Live Auction will be held Saturday, June 18 from 6 to 9 p.m., in-studio live and on TV. View the art and tour MPBN 5-6 p.m. Bidding live in the studio and on TV by phone begins at 6 p.m. with Fred Olsen of James D. Julia Auctioneers. Refreshments will be served.

  • Paintings needed for auction

    NORWAY — Calling all artists to bring their auction painting to the Matolcsy Art Center now. Let's see how quickly the gallery can be filled with wonderful paintings to benefit the building restoration. The MAC has great visibility, with the Gingerbread House gone and down the street. There is new energy with its active and vibrant board and president. There are lots of classes and activities happening. Now they need you to help with the renovations.
