  • White Owl Duo in concert in Hartford

    HARTFORD — The Pinpoint of Light Spiritualist Camp is pleased to present an educational, family-oriented concert of traditional Native American music played by Laura Lee Perkins on Native American-style flutes and Kenneth Green on drums and rattles. Laura Lee has three published books about Native American flute and Kenneth handcrafts flutes, drums and rattles. They also have recorded five professional CDs.

  • World's Fair schedules dances

    WATERFORD — The Waterford World's Fair next dance will be Saturday, July 9 at the dance hall at the fairgrounds and the band will be the Road Kingz. This is a BYOB dance and the music will begin at 8 p.m.; the price is $10 per person.

  • Come dance the night away

    NORWAY — Bring your dancing shoes and an empty belly to The Norway Arts Festival Street Dance on Friday, July 8, from 7 to 10 p.m. behind Fare Share Co-op, with a rain location at the OHCHS Forum.

  • SLLMF presents 'Discover the Joys of Live Music'

    AREA — The Sebago-Long Lake Music Festival, now in the 39th season of summer concerts, has announced plans for “Discover the Joys of Live Music.” This program for ages six to 96 will be presented at Skye Theatre in So. Carthage on Sunday, July 17 at 7 p.m.; at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School in South Paris on Thursday, July 21 at 1 p.m. and at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Bridgton on Sunday, July 24 at 7 p.m.

  • Tim Sample to hold book signing

    NORWAY — Tim Sample, Down East humorist and author, whose books have sold more than a million copies, and Steve Bither, attorney and founding member of The Wicked Good Band, will be entertaining and signing their new book, "Maine Curiosities," at Books N Things in Norway.

    This is scheduled to coincide with the Norway Summer Festival on Saturday, July 9, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tim will also be appearing live on stage at the North Waterford Church on August 4.

  • New publication by Lovell Historical Society

    LOVELL — The Lovell Historical Society has just published a new book, "Kezar Lake Memoirs," edited by Catherine Ingram Stone.

    In the summer of 1889, five young men arrived on the shores of Kezar Lake in Lovell. They climbed the surrounding mountains, caught abundant fish, and thoroughly enjoyed "camp life."

  • Poets on the Porch features 20 poets

    NORWAY — Now in its ninth year as part of the Norway Arts Festival, Poets on the Porch will happen on July 9, as part of the Norway Arts Festival, from 1 to 3 p.m. in front of the Norway Memorial Library.

  • Dancers to perform

    PARIS/SOUTH PARIS — Art Moves Dance Project will perform at the OHCHS auditorium on Thursday, July 7 at 6 p.m.; at Founder's Day on Paris Hill; at Celebration Barn's BarnFest on Saturday, July 16 and  at OHCHS on Friday, August 12 in a fundraiser for artistic director Debi Irons' recent double hip replacement.   • Artist reception, open house at Harvest Gold Gallery

    CENTER LOVELL — The new art has arrived and it’s up and ready for summer. This year, Harvest Gold Gallery is showing the largest collection of original fine art and crafts yet. There are many new works by favorite artists and new artists have been added to the gallery as well. It was a great winter for creating.
