Puppet show at Eastman PAC
Mar 14, 2013 12:00 amFRYEBURG — The Leura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center continues its family entertainment series with a free performance of "Ecological Logic" by the puppet company Purple Rock Productions on Friday, March 29, at 7 p.m.
Due to a generous donation from Poland Spring and grants from the Maine Community Foundation and the Gibson/Woodbury Foundation, there is no charge for this wonderful puppet show.

"The Good Doctor"
Mar 14, 2013 12:00 amCAST — The cast for OHMPAA's March show The Good Doctor includes, from left back, Sarah Porter, Kyle Martin and Christopher Dowling. Front, Holly Hill and Andy Turner. The show begins its run at the Norway Grange on Thursday evening, March 14 at the new time of 7:30 p.m. Opening night tickets are at a bargain price of $5 each. The 7:30 p.m. evening shows are March 14, 15, 16, 21, 22 and 23. The 2 p.m. matinees are March 17 and 24.
LRCT schedules Gypsy auditions
Mar 07, 2013 12:00 amBRIDGTON — Lake Region Community Theatre announces auditions for its summer musical, "Gypsy," a Stephen Sondheim musical inspired by the memoirs of Gypsy Rose Lee and produced by arrangement with Tams-Witmark Music Library, Inc.
Auditions will take place at Stevens Brook Elementary School in Bridgton on the following dates: Tuesday, March 12 at 6 p.m. (register and be prepared to dance by 6:30 p.m.) and Saturday, March 16 at 10 a.m. (register and be prepared to dance by 10:30 a.m.).

Poland Players present 'Mattress'
Mar 07, 2013 12:00 amPOLAND — The Poland Players will present the timeless musical comedy "Once Upon a Mattress" this March. The show is a rollicking and raucous journey through medieval time where knights are daring and ladies demure and everyone wants to live happily ever after.
But in this clever adaptation of Hans Christian Anderson's of the princess and the pea, happily ever after may not happen until Prince Dauntless can find a wife - one that is acceptable to his mother. The problem is that no one in the kingdom may get married until the prince does.
McLaughlin lecture series continues
Mar 07, 2013 12:00 amSOUTH PARIS — Mark Brandhorst from Halls Pond Gardens in South Paris will talk about using hardy succulents and other drought tolerant plants in rock gardens on Wednesday, March 13 at the McLaughlin Garden and Homestead.
In taking advantage of rock outcroppings and stonewalls, the possibilities are endless with the many colors and forms that are available. Brandhorst will show slides from his gardens and nursery where he sells sempervivum (hens and chicks), sedums and other low rock hugging plants.
