Mahoosuc Arts awarded grants
Sep 20, 2012 12:00 amBETHEL — The Mahoosuc Arts Council has been awarded two $3,000 grants from the New England Foundation for the Arts (NEFA) through the New England States Touring Program to support performances in the 2012-13 Gould and Telstar performing arts series.
One grant was awarded for an innovative, cross-sector collaboration between arts and agriculture in the form of a spring 2013 theater residency at Crescent Park Elementary based on the critical role of honey bees in the global food supply.
Public dance scheduled

Barn presents Celebration Ensemble

"Thumbs Up" follows 20-year-old aspiring-writer Lexi up the Maine coast as she hitchhikes her way to Canada. Along the way she falls in with a wild mix of characters as she chases down her ever-elusive vision quest.
Mollyockett Chorus to host guests

Guest night is an opportunity to visit with the Chorus and enjoy a fun evening of song.
The Mollyockett Chorus sings chord ringing, fun-filled music, including special arrangements of today’s ballads and upbeat songs, popular show tunes, and even jazz, in addition to traditional barbershop ballads.
Open call for artists issued

The Paper Project is an opportunity for any artist who is a resident of Maine to show their work in a professional gallery setting. Artists may submit up to 10 works in a variety of mediums on paper for this non-juried show, opening on October 5, from 5-8 p.m.
Final call for applicants for concerto competition

This unique competition, sponsored by the Cape Cod Symphony Orchestra (CCSO) is open to vocalists or instrumentalists over 10 years old who either live in or go to school in New England. Up to eight semi-finalists will be chosen and announced on November 1, and perform live at Semi-Finals on February 9, 2013. The top three Finalists will be chosen by judges and audience voting.
PAC presents The Last of the Haussmans

Piano concert features Lopez

This concert will serve as a welcome back to the Franco Center's patrons after its annual summer hiatus, and is the first of a small number of events in advance of the Center's 2012-2013 season, which will be announced in its entirety in mid-September.
