  • Shop and eat at Norway Universalist Church

    NORWAY — Tired and hungry after the Norway-Paris Christmas parade? Come to the Norway Universalist Church on 479 Main Street for a family-friendly soup and sandwich lunch on Saturday, November 27, following the annual Christmas Parade. A variety of soups and sandwiches (several kid-friendly items), brownies and beverages can be had for family-friendly prices — $4 for adults and $3 for children with family rates available. The luncheon will start after the parade and end at 2 p.m.

  • Holiday craft fair and raffle in Norway

    NORWAY - The annual Holiday Fair and Raffle at St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church will be held this year on Saturday, November 20. Doors open at 9 a.m. and close at 1:30 p.m. In addition to a wide variety of gift and food items available for purchase from local crafters, the fair features a bake sale, "trash and treasure" room and a raffle. The raffle items include a load of firewood, a Holiday Cheer basket, gift certificates from local merchants, jewelry, and much more. Stop by before or after visiting the DECA fair at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School.

  • Ecumenical Thanksgiving service in Oxford

    NORWAY — The Oxford Hills Area Clergy Association will again hold its annual Thanksgiving service involving clergy and choirs from many churches in Norway, Paris, Oxford and other nearby towns. The service this year will be held Sunday, November 21, at Hosanna Church on Schoolhouse Road in the Welchville area of Oxford. The service will begin at 4 p.m. and all members of the public are invited to participate in worship and thanksgiving.

  • Silver Moore-Leamon will lead Sunday service

    SOUTH PARIS - Silver Moore-Leamon will lead the 10 a.m. worship service Sunday, November 21, at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine Street in South Paris. Her sermon topic will be, "Is Playing Football Really a Sin?" Forest Perkins, organist, and the choir will lead the music and Renee Wales will direct the Sunday School. The Coffee Hour will follow in Good Cheer Hall. All are welcome.

  • Church to hold Christmas wreath sale.

    NORWAY - A sale of beautiful Christmas wreaths will be held on Saturday, November 27, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Second Congregational Church, UCC, 205 Main Street in Norway. The public is invited to purchase brightly decorated evergreen wreaths, by Sue Goulet. Proceeds will benefit the many missions of the Second Congregational Church, United Church of Christ. If you wish to pre-order, please contact the church office at 743-2290 or e-mail seconch@megalink.net. Please come early, because this annual sale is very popular.

  • Tetelestai in concert at Norway Nazarene

    NORWAY - A free concert of Christian music at its finest will be held on Saturday, November 20 at 6 p.m. at the Norway Church of the Nazarene, 10 Grove St. in Norway. Tetelestai is a group of young men who have surrendered all to the Lord and only want to serve Him. Rock, Rap, Gospel, all for His glory - there will be something for everyone.

    A love offering will be collected for the group's ministry.  Light refreshments will be available after the concert; please bring something to share. Please call Pastor Shawn with any questions at 743-8172.

  • Norway Church to hold Heifer Project Fair

    NORWAY - On Saturday, November 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Second Congregational Church, UCC, 205 Main Street in Norway, will be holding its annual Heifer Project Fair under the big white tent. According to Mickie Shibles, chairperson of the mission committee, "The Heifer Project Fair is a wonderful way for all of us to give thanks, by giving to others."

  • Trinity Lutheran Church

    SOUTH PARIS - The Savior assures us of God's presence always. Hear more at Trinity Lutheran Church, 34 Buckfield Road in South Paris, on the 25th Sunday after Pentecost, November 14. Worship service starts at 10:15 a.m followed by coffee, refreshments and good fellowship. All are welcome.

  • Second Congregational Church to hold a traditional bean supper.

    NORWAY - A traditional Western Maine bean supper will be held on Friday, December 3, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Second Congregational Church, UCC, 205 Main St. in Norway. This is the second in their series of "First Friday Fantastic Family Feasts." The public is invited to join in for a delicious dinner and fellowship. Take out will be available.
