Second Congo Church plans Christmas Eve services
Dec 16, 2010 12:00 amNORWAY - The friends and members of the Second Congregational Church, U.C.C., 205 Main Street in Norway, invite all to join them at candlelight Christmas Eve Services on Friday, December 24, at 6 and 10 p.m.
The early service will be geared toward families with younger children and the later service will be a traditional service of lessons and carols.
The offering collected during the Christmas Eve services is for the minister's discretionary fund and is used throughout the year to help those in need.
Christmas Eve candlelight service in Waterford
Dec 16, 2010 12:00 amWATERFORD — The Waterford Congregational Church, at the base of Plummer Hill in Waterford Flat, will hold its Christmas Eve service at 6 p.m. on December 24. The congregation extends an invitation to the community to join them for music, readings and carol singing, ending with the singing of "Silent Night" by candlelight. All are welcome.
'Tin Christmas' sermon topic at South Paris church
Dec 16, 2010 12:00 amSOUTH PARIS - "There's Only One 'I' in Christmas" will be Silver Moore-Leamon's sermon topic at the 10 a.m. worship service Sunday, December 19, at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine Street, South Paris. The music will be under the direction of Forest Perkins, church organist, Renee Wales, flutist, and the choir. The Coffee Hour will follow in Good Cheer Hall. Everyone is welcome.
The Christmas Eve service will be at 6:30 p.m. There will be no service Sunday, December 26 so that families can enjoy this extra time together.
Christ Church celebrates Christmas
Dec 16, 2010 12:00 amNORWAY – There are many ways to celebrate Christmas this year at Christ Episcopal Church, Norway.
On Friday, December 24, at 4 p.m., the church opens for the singing of carols and the traditional Christmas readings, including the familiar Christmas story in St. Luke’s nativity gospel. Children will present a Pageant as they fill the Creche with the Holy Family and with animals of all sorts. Steve Jones will sing “Some Children See Him”. The service will end with Holy Communion and, with the congregation kneeling, the singing of Silent Night.
Christian Women United to meet

Christmas Eve service at St. Peter's

Sermon will be 'What do we make of the Virgin Birth'
Dec 09, 2010 12:00 amNORWAY-WEST PARIS — The First Universalist churches of Norway and West Paris, preparing for the many religious holidays of light celebrated at this time of year, will focus this coming Sunday, December 12, on the liberal Christian theology of the Virgin Birth. The Reverend Richard Beal will preach on “What do we make of the Virgin Birth” at both the Norway and West Paris services. Special music will be presented.
A Nutcracker Christmas fair slated
Dec 09, 2010 12:00 amOTISFIELD - The East Otisfield Free Baptist Church will host a Christmas Fair on Saturday, December 11 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. and on Sunday, December 12, after the morning service. The fair gets its name from Polly Durant's nutcracker collection which will be on exhibit at the fair. Mrs. Durant has been collecting nutcrackers for more years than she can remember. The collection boasts dozens of nutcrackers doing everything from fishing to merely standing still looking majestic. Mrs. Durant will be happy to discuss her collection with fair goers.
Church supper set
Dec 09, 2010 12:00 amThe Hebron Community Baptist Church will be offering it's boiled Ham dinner Saturday, December 11 from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Church on Station Rd.in Hebron.
Ham, carrots,onions, beets, cabbage and turnip as well as homemade pies, coffee, milk and tea.will be offered. Price is $7. A hymn sing of seasonal tunes will follow in the Church. FMI call Marion Hall at 966-2663.
