Christmas at Christ Church
Dec 22, 2010 12:01 amNORWAY — On Christmas Eve at 4 p.m. the church opens for the singing of carols, the traditional Christmas readings, including the familiar Christmas story in St. Luke’s nativity gospel. All children will be invited to fill the Creche with animals of all sorts. The service will end with Holy Communion and, with the congregation kneeling, the singing of Silent Night.
Christmas eve service planned at East Otisfield church
Dec 22, 2010 12:01 amOTISFIELD — A Christmas Eve service will be held at the East Otisfield Free Baptist Church on the Rayville Road (just off Route 121) in Otisfield at 7 p.m. on Friday, December 24. Pastor Genise Knowlton will conduct the service. In her sermonette she will describe the Christmas story seen through the eyes of the innkeeper.
Music Director Priscilla Delehanty and the choir will present a variety of seasonal music beginning with the beautiful "Advent Processional," by Anna Laura Page.
East Sumner church plans Christmas Eve service
Dec 22, 2010 12:01 amEAST SUMNER — The December 24 Christmas Eve Service at the Congregational Church of East Sumner will start with an outdoor Living Nativity at 6:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served in the vestry. At 7:30 p.m., a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service of Lessons & Carols will be held in the Sanctuary. Donations at the Living Nativity will benefit the Deacons' Community Outreach Fund; the Candlelight Service will benefit retired ministers who have no pension plans. Merry Christmas to all.

Then join in for worship service on Sunday, December 26 at 10:15 a.m. This is followed by coffee, refreshments and good fellowship. All are welcome.
Christmas Eve services at First Congregational Church South Paris
Dec 22, 2010 12:01 amSOUTH PARIS — First Congregational Church at 17 East Main Street in South Paris will be holding two Christmas Eve services. At 7 p.m. there will be a family worship service that will include presentations from the church choir, lighting of the Advent candles and special music. Reverend Don Mayberry will offer a brief message called “God’s Humble Message.” Then at 11:30 p.m. there will be a Candlelight Service. This service will also include special music. Both services will include many of the favorite carols and communion will be served.
Christmas eve service at 6:30 p.m.
Dec 16, 2010 12:00 amSOUTH PARIS — The traditional Christmas Eve service at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine Street in South Paris, will begin at 6:30 p.m. on December 24. The service will be led by Marilyn Hammond, assisted by readers Richard Varney, Sharon Bouchard and Wayne Whittemore sharing both traditional and contemporary readings. Music will by the choir, Renee Wales, flutist and Forest Perkins, church organist. Everyone is invited to join in for this festive service.

Dec 16, 2010 12:00 amSOUTH PARIS — This is a reminder that the regular Sunday service of December 26th at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine Street in South Paris will not be held so that families may continue the Christmas celebration with their families and friends. The next service is scheduled for Sunday, January 2, at 10 a.m. Sharon Bouchard will be the worship leader.
Sermon to be on the Solstice
Dec 16, 2010 12:00 amNORWAY-WEST PARIS — The First Universalist churches of Norway and West Paris will focus their services this coming Sunday, December 19, on the Solstice. The Reverend Richard Beal will preach in West Paris, and in Norway, the Worship Committee will present the service. Special music will be presented.
The service at West Paris is at 9 a.m. and the service at Norway begins at 11 a.m. Child care is available and people of all religious traditions, or none, are welcome and invited to attend and take part in the unique approach to Christian and other religious practices.
Harrison church plans caroling

On Tuesday, December 21, take "A Christmas Breath" at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary for a time of quiet peacefulness to think about what is in your heart at Christmas. There will be quiet music playing and candles lit - an atmosphere for taking a breath.
