  • Sermon will be on Ruth and Naomi

    NORWAY/WEST PARIS — “Ruth and Naomi” will be the focus at the services on Sunday, February 13, at the First Universalist churches of Norway and West Paris.

    This is a service in honor of the theme of Valentine’s Day— love. A special Valentine’s Day communion will be served. The service at West Paris is at 9 a.m. and the service at Norway begins at 11 a.m. Child care is available and people of all religious traditions, or none, are welcome to attend and take part in the unique approach to Christian and other religious practices.

  • Ben Tucker to lead service

    SOUTH PARIS — Ben Tucker will lead the 10 a.m. service at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine Street in South Paris, on Sunday, February 6. Forest Perkins will direct the music and Renee Wales will lead the Sunday School. The Coffee Hour will follow in Good Cheer Hall. All are welcome.

  • Sermon will be a celebration of winter

    NORWAY/WEST PARIS — “Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow,” a celebration of winter rather than being grumpy about it, will be the focus on the services on Sunday, February 6, at the First Universalist churches of Norway and West Paris.

    The service at West Paris is at 9 a.m. and the service at Norway begins at 11 a.m. Child care is available.

  • Special coffee hour discussion slated

    NORWAY — Coffee hour and fellowship time after worship on Sunday morning is always special at the Second Congregational Church, United Church of Christ in Norway. The food is delicious and the conversations are lively.

  • Merry Shore to lead Jan. 30th service

    SOUTH PARIS — Merry Shore will lead the January 30th worship service at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine Street in South Paris. Her sermon topic at the 10 a.m. service will be "A Life of Service." Forest Perkins will direct the music and Renee Wales will lead the Sunday School. The Coffee Hour will follow in Good Cheer Hall. Everyone is welcome.

  • Sermon will be on growth and change

    AREA — “Growth and Change in Unitarian Universalism, as Reflected in our Hymnals” will be the focus on Sunday, January 30, by The Reverend Richard Beal at services at the First Universalist churches of Norway and West Paris. Numerous hymns from the 1600s to the present that illustrate the theme will be sung.

  • 'Beautiful people' topic at Trinity Lutheran

    SOUTH PARIS — Hear more about God's beautiful people on the fourth Sunday after Epiphany, January 30, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 34 Buckfield Road in South Paris. The 10:15 a.m. service is followed by coffee, refreshments and good fellowship.

  • Worship Committees to lead services

    NORWAY/W. PARIS — On Sunday, January 23, the services at the First Universalist churches of Norway and West Paris will be led by the churches' Worship Committees. The service at West Paris is at 9 a.m. and the service at Norway begins at 11 a.m. Child care is available and people of all religious traditions, or none, are welcome and invited to attend and take part in the unique approach to Christian and other religious practices.

  • Maine gets housing grant assistance

    WASHINGTON, DC – Recently, Congressman Mike Michaud announced that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has awarded the State of Maine $10,581,799 under the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program and $3,430,081 under the HOME Program.
    “The Community Development Block Grant and HOME programs provide key investments that grow our communities, increase affordable housing options, and create new opportunities for economic growth,” said Michaud.
