  • Bishop visits Trinity Lutheran

    PARIS — Newly elected Bishop James Hazelwood met with members of Trinity Lutheran Church recently. After introducing himself, he led a discussion of the state of the church and how they will meet the challenges of this time.

    At his installation in September Bishop Hazelwood promised to visit every one of the 185 congregations in the New England Synod of the Lutheran Church in his first year in office.

    HEBRON — Hebron Community Baptist Church will hold its Christmas Eve Service at 6 p.m. on December 24.

    PARIS — A Christmas Candlelight service will be held on Sunday, December 23, at 6 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Paris Hill. The Reverend Mary Beth Caffey, pastor of the church, wanted to be sure that everyone from the community knows that they are welcome to attend

  • Movie night at Cornerstone Gospel Church

    NAPLES — The next movie night at Cornerstone Gospel Church, 25 Sebago Rd. in Naples, will be Friday, December 21. At 6:30 p.m., "A Charlie Brown Christmas" will be shown - for kids of all ages! At 7:15 p.m., "It's a Wonderful Life" will be shown.

    A basket will be on the table to the right leaving the sanctuary, with half going to help offset the license cost and half going to help get a new sound system for the church.

  • Welcome new pastor

    OXFORD — Oxford Congregational Church welcomes their new part-time pastor Sondra Withy with a reception on Sunday, December 16 from 12:30-2:30 p.m.

    Everyone is invited to attend. Please consider attending the service from 11 a.m.-12 noon.

  • Christmas Cantata is offered twice

    WOODSTOCK — The annual Christmas Cantata at the Woodstock Seventh-Day Adventist Church will be held on Friday, December 14, at 6:45 p.m. and Saturday, December 15, at 10:45 a.m. at the church on Perkins Valley Road in Woodstock.

    The Cantata will be presented by the Forestdale School students and church children and directed by Winnie Hodson. All are invited to come, see and hear a special program.

  • Christmas at Casco Church

    CASCO — It's Christmas time at the Casco Village Church United Church of Christ, 941 Meadow Road (Route 121) in Casco, beginning with "A Christmas Breath" on Tuesday, December 18, at 7 p.m.

    Candles lit in the Sanctuary, soft music playing ... a time to reflect, to quiet one's soul, to sit still and breath. Emmanuel.

    There will be two Christmas Eve services: a family-friendly service at 7 p.m. with special music, lots of carol singing and special surprises.

    SUMNER — Pastor Howard MacMullen invites the community to the Congregational Church of East Sumner at 50 Main Street for the Annual Living Nativity on December 15 at 6 p.m.

    Paula Dobbins will read the Christmas story, the choir will sing the hymns and local youth will act out the story. Following that, everyone is invited inside for hot cocoa and cookies. In the event of rain, the Living Nativity will take place in the Sanctuary.

    CASCO — Music for Christmas! Enjoy and get in the spirit! The choir of the Casco Village Church United Church of Christ gathers to bring the Christmas spirit to you this Sunday, December 9, at 4 p.m. in their beautiful sanctuary at 941 Meadow Road (Route 121) in Casco Village.

    The choir is under the direction of Eugene Long and will be accompanied by Evan Cuddy, with very special guest musicians joining them to bring you a variety of music from sacred and classical Christmas favorites to contemporary selections.

  • Homecoming Sunday planned at SCC

    NORWAY — If you haven't been to church for awhile or are looking for a church family, you are invited to Homecoming Sunday at Second Congregational Church, UCC on December 2.

    Following worship, there will be a Christmas Family Workshop to make ornaments and Christmas cards.

    Each Sunday in December at 9:45 a.m. they will have a Carol Sing before worship at 10.
