  • Native American Stories sermon topic

    NORWAY-WEST PARIS — “During the Hunger Moon, Listening to Native American Stories” will be the focus at the services on Sunday, February 27, at the First Universalist churches of Norway and West Paris.

    The Reverend Richard Beal will preach. In Norway, recording artist Heather Pierson, the music director and choir leader, will have returned from her tour in Chicago.

  • World Day of Prayer is March 4

    CANTON — Friday, March 4, is World Day of Prayer 2011. The World Day of Prayer is an ecumenical celebration of informed prayer and provides an opportunity for communities to come together for prayer and fellowship. Participants are invited to join in the prayer service written by the women of Chile for families in need worldwide.

    SOUTH PARIS — "It's Not Religion We are Seeking" is the title of Rev. Don Mayberry's sermon on Sunday, February 20 at First Congregational Church, 17 East Main Street in South Paris.  Mayberry says he is convinced it is love, joy, peace and a meaningful and God-directed life that we are looking for.

  • Loving enemies is topic at Trinity Lutheran

    SOUTH PARIS — On the seventh Sunday after Epiphany come learn of God's message to "love your enemies" at Trinity Lutheran Church, 34 Buckfield Road in South Paris. Worship service is at 10:15 a.m., followed by coffee, refreshments and loving fellowship. Preceding the worship service, come to Adult and Youth Bible study at 9:00 a.m. Will they see you there?

  • Music in worship at First Universalist

    SOUTH PARIS — Music in Worship will be the focus of the 10 a.m. service at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine Street in South Paris on Sunday, February 20. The musicians will include Renee Wales, flute; Jeanne Whittemore, Berdina Whittemore and Terry Twitchell will be the vocal soloists in addition to the choir. Forest Perkins will be organist and Renee Wales will lead the Sunday School. The Coffee Hour will follow in Good Cheer Hall. Everyone is invited.

  • Open, loving heart topic at Trinity Lutheran

    SOUTH PARIS — Learn about having an open and loving heart as the Bible tells us at Trinity Lutheran Church, 34 Buckfield Road in South Paris on February 13, the sixth Sunday after Epiphany at 10:15 a.m. followed by coffee, refreshments and good fellowship. All are welcome.

    SOUTH PARIS — Silver Moore-Leamon will lead the 10 a.m. worship service at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine Street in South Paris on Sunday, February 13. Forest Perkins will direct the music and Renee Wales will lead the Sunday School. The Coffee Hour will follow in Good Cheer Hall. All are welcome.

  • Sermon will be on Ruth and Naomi

    NORWAY/WEST PARIS — “Ruth and Naomi” will be the focus at the services on Sunday, February 13, at the First Universalist churches of Norway and West Paris.

    This is a service in honor of the theme of Valentine’s Day— love. A special Valentine’s Day communion will be served. The service at West Paris is at 9 a.m. and the service at Norway begins at 11 a.m. Child care is available and people of all religious traditions, or none, are welcome to attend and take part in the unique approach to Christian and other religious practices.
