  • Worship at Trinity Lutheran

    PARIS — As in Psalm 27, the Lord says "Come worship me." Do this with members and friends at Trinity Lutheran Church, 34 Buckfield Rd, South Paris at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday, March 6, the last Sunday after Epiphany.

    Worship service is followed by coffee, refreshments and loving fellowship. Youth and adult Bible studies start at 9 a.m. All are welcome.

  • Ash Wednesday service, duscussions set

    HARRISON — The Bolsters Mills United Methodist Church will be hosting an Ash Wednesday service at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 9 in Bolsters Mills, Harrison. Everyone is welcome.

    Beginning on Thursday, March 17 and every Thursday throughout Lent, the church will be holding discussions on comparative faiths. This will include Catholic, Muslim, Protestant and Jewish faiths. Persons of all persuasions are encouraged to join in. Watch for details of each discussion to be announced in advance. There will also be light suppers prior to the weekly programs.

  • Blessed Teresa Lenten Bible study begins

    NORWAY/MECHANIC FALLS — The Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Parish Lenten Scripture study and discussion program begins March 7 and runs through April 15.

    Small groups of eight to 10 people will meet once a week. They will discuss the scripture readings for Lent in light of commentary and discussion questions from The Reverend Clement Thibodeau's "Echoing God's Word" series.

  • Weekly Stations of the Cross to be held

    NORWAY — Weekly Stations of the Cross, followed by a simple soup supper, begin March 11 and continue through April 15 at St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church in Norway.

    All are welcome. The stations begin each Friday at 6 p.m. in the sanctuary. The simple, meatless soup suppers are in the church hall downstairs immediately after (usually starting around 6:45 p.m.).

  • Lenten lunches scheduled

    PARIS —  Lenten lunches will begin on March 10, at Deering Memorial Methodist Church at the corner of Main and Church streets in South Paris.

    The lunches will continue every Thursday for the six weeks of Lent, ending April 14. Soup, salads and sandwiches will be served, followed by a sermonette.

    The cost will be $6 per luncheon or $30 for the series. Ample parking is available behind the library and town office. Please come for good food, good fellowship and good prayer for the soul.

  • Tucker to lead service

    PARIS — Ben Tucker will lead the 10 a.m. service at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine Street in South Paris on Sunday, March 6.

    Forest Perkins will direct the music and Renee Wales will lead the Sunday School. The Coffee Hour will follow in Good Cheer Hall. All are welcome.

  • Love of God is Trinity sermon

    SOUTH PARIS — Listen, seek and proclaim your love of God at Trinity Lutheran Church, 34 Buckfield Road in South Paris on Sunday, February 27, the eighth Sunday after Epiphany. Adult Bible study (Making the Old Story our Story) starts at 9 a.m. Worship service starts at 10:15 a.m. followed by coffee, refreshments and good fellowship.
