  • Home prices increase, sales decrease

    SOUTH PORTLAND — Statistics released by the Maine Real Estate Information Service, Inc. (MREIS) indicate the median sales price (MSP) of a single-family home in Maine, rose 0.92% in February 2011, to $159,450 compared with February 2010. The MSP indicates that half of the homes were sold for more and half sold for less. In addition, 482 homes were sold in February 2011, reflecting a sales decrease of 2.43% compared to February 2010.

  • New Balance introduces t-shirts

    BOSTON, MA — New Balance will introduce a new collection of lifestyle t-shirts, designed in collaboration with New Balance baseball athlete and former league MVP, Dustin Pedroia. Five percent of the MSRP of all sales will be donated to the Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital Home Base Program. The nonprofit Home Base Program provides clinical and support services to servicemen and women returning from Afghanistan and Iraq wars with combat-related stress disorders and/or traumatic brain injury (TBI) and their families.

  • Companies complete trade mission to Austria

    BETHEL — Earlier this month Maine Energy Systems, FutureMetrics and Corinth Wood Pellets, representing Maine’s thermal biomass industry, travelled to Wels, Austria, in a cooperative effort to strengthen relations with several high-tech European alternative energy companies.

  • Davidson joins Bessy Motors

    ASSISTANT MANAGER — John Davidson joins the team at Bessey Motor Sales as the assistant manager of the collision center. Davidson brings more than 20 years  experience in dealing with all major insurance companies. He lives in West Paris with his wife Shelley and two children Jordan and Lauren.

  • Packard receives certification

    NORWAY — Congratulations to Carley Packard, PTA of Richard Bader Physical Therapy, who earned her Group Exercise Instructor certification on February 14. Carley is excited to apply this to her prenatal fitness class, which is currently finishing up its second session on March 31.
