    MEDICS — Brent Stevenson and Melissa Compton recently opened the Furniture Medic in Oxford. The Furniture Medic specializes in furniture and wood repair and restoration.

  • Maine home sales decrease in March

    SOUTH PORTLAND — Maine home sales slowed in March 2011, compared with March 2010. According to the Maine Real Estate Information Service, Inc. (MREIS), statewide single-family existing home sales decreased 20.74% compared with March 2010. Maine’s medium sales price (MS) of $159,700 reflects a 3.15% decrease in that same time period. The MSP indicates that half of the homes were sold for more and half sold for less.

  • Oxford Networks promotes Martin

    LEWISTON — Oxford Networks is pleased to announce the promotion of Shawn Martin to CLEC Central Office Supervisor. In his new position Martin is responsible for supervising department employees, maintaining efficient work flow and scheduling. Martin previously served as a Central Office Technician at Oxford Networks and has been employed with the company for 11 years. Martin lives with his wife Michelle and two in Turner.

    RAIN OR SHINE — The rain didn't keep people away from Crazy Horse Racing's open house on Saturday. Race cars were on display outside for visitor's viewing pleasure and inside a crew works on a race car. Visitors were able to walk through the garage were multiple race cars were being worked on.

  • Oxford Networks announces new hires

    LEWISTON — Oxford Networks is pleased to announce that Jon Bilodeau has been hired as IP Engineer. In this position, Bilodeau is responsible for network evaluation, upgrade and expansion recommendations and new product offerings. Bilodeau is a graduate of Plymouth State University and lives in Lisbon with his fiancée, Heather Greenleaf.

  • Building Solutions project featured

    OXFORD — Building Solutions, a plan/design/build firm of commercial and industrial facilities, recently had a high-profile project featured at the national 2011 Brownfields Conference in Philadelphia. Bedard Medical Campus, currently under construction on Minot Avenue in Auburn, is being built on an EPA/Brownfields Program site. The City of Auburn used the Brownfields grant to determine the level of mitigation required.

  • Maine Spinecare opens to meet regional need

    AUBURN — Maine Spinecare, a new regional center for the treatment of back and neck problems, has opened at 690 Minot Avenue In Auburn. Maine Spinecare has partnered with PRIZM Development to bring to Maine a Spine Center of Excellence joining a network of similar centers across the country.

    Maine Spinecare combines the expertise of multiple spine care specialists in a single location to improve care for patients. Staffing includes specialty trained physical therapists, physical medicine and fellowship-trained spine surgeons.
