  • CMCC offers project management course

    AUBURN — The Corporate and Community Services department at Central Maine Community College (CMCC) will offer Essentials of Project Management on two consecutive Wednesdays, February 27 and March 6, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

  • Food pantry gets donation

    BUCKFIELD — Northeast Bank recently announced a donation of $1,000 to the Buckfield Food Pantry, to go toward much needed food and supplies. In addition, Lewiston-based Neokraft Signs donated a new sign so that clients of the pantry will know when it is open.

    Northeast Bank’s Employee Volunteer program, which allows each employee to volunteer in the community up to two days per year, has enabled each employee at the Buckfield Branch to contribute about 36 hours annually to the food pantry, totaling over 140 hours.

  • Small business tax workshop offered

    Women, Work & Community will be offering a three-hour workshop “Small Business Owners Tax Workshop” designed for individuals with business income to report, whether you plan to do your own taxes or work with a professional tax preparer.

  • 'Posabilities' yoga studio celebrates grand opening

    CELEBRATION —   Posabilities – physical therapy, yoga, yoga therapy, celebrates its grand opening with an open house dance, as well as community classes, complementary health and wellness services and a tour of the facility, January 26, at the studio on Tannery Street. Owners, Katey Hawes, MS, PT, RYT, Katey Branch LMT, RYT and Kathryn Gardner, LMT, RYT say they opened the space to encourage individuals to reach their greatest potential health, wellness and happiness through a variety of wellness services.

  • AT&T expands 4G network

    WATERFORD — AT & T's 4G network just got larger for customers in Waterford. AT&T has activated a new 4G mobile Internet cell site in Waterford that will enhance coverage for area residents and businesses and provide speeds up to four times faster than 3G (not available everywhere).

    Customers can now enjoy 4G speeds in Waterford in the area of Rice Road and Routes 35 and 118.

  • Professional bartending course scheduled

    AUBURN — The Corporate and Community Services Department at Central Maine Community College will offer a bartending course Wednesday evenings, January 30 through April 3, from 6 to 9 p.m. The cost is $350 and includes all materials.

    Students will learn the basics of professional bartending and mixology and its application in restaurants, clubs and function facilities. This class also includes the Maine Course, a six-hour seminar in the responsible service of alcohol as required by the State of Maine Liquor Commission and the Department of Human Services.
