      BIDDEFORD/PORTLAND — Mariah Colby, daughter of Pam and Walter Colby of Oxford, has been named to the University of New England Dean’s List. Mariah is a 2010 graduate of Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School and is a Pharmacy major at the university.

      NORWAY — Kids who like the Percy Jackson Series by Rick Riordan can sign up for this program based on the Greek god Pan on Tuesday, February 8, from 3:15-4:15 p.m. at the Norway Memorial Library.

      All kids in first through sixth grades are invited to join the After School Special program at the Norway Memorial Library. The February program focuses on the Percy Jackson series and specifically the Greek god Pan.

      AUBURN — The Corporate and Community Services Department at Central Maine Community College will offer Supervising People: the Essential Skills for Leaders. This five-part series will be held on Fridays, March 4 to April 1 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. The cost is $315, including workbooks and materials.

    • Hebron Academy hosts annual hockey contest

      HEBRON — Hebron Academy students did the cheering for a change, as alumni, parents and faculty took to the ice recently for the annual Green and White hockey challenge.

      Alumnus George Dycio of Lewiston and parent Mike Hughes shared goal-tending duties for each team in a close game, with the green team besting the white team 18-15. Players from the classes of 1978 through 2009 traveled from Maine, Massachusetts and Ontario to join the fun.

      BOSTON, MA — Brian Annis of Bethel and Mallory Martin of Harrison have been named to the Dean's List for the Fall 2010 semester at Emerson College.

      The criterion to make Emerson's Dean's List is a cumulative grade point average of 3.7 or higher.

      SCHOLARSHIP — On Saturday, January 29, at the Norway Historical Society, treasurer Roy Gadet awards the first annual Norway Historical Society Scholarship of $500 to Karianna Merrill, following the successful completion of her first semester as a music education major at University of Southern Maine. She is the daughter of Steven and Sharon Merrill.
