  • Adult Ed enrichment courses offered

    OXFORD HILLS/BUCKFIELD — The following Enrichment Classes are offered at Oxford Hills/Buckfield Adult Education.

    Monday, February 14

    Dog Obedience, with Lynda Knowlton, 5-6 p.m. Cost: $65.

    Thursday, February 17

    Intuition: Going Beyond Your Sixth Sense, with Chris and Paula Easton, 6-8:30 p.m. Cost: $20.

  • New service-learning grants announced

    AUGUSTA — The Maine Commission for Community Service announced two Maine school districts have been awarded Learn and Serve grants to support implementation of service-learning. MSAD #17 - Oxford Hills and the Sanford School Department will each receive almost $30,000 over two years to expand the use of service-learning as a teaching methodology across their schools.

  • Grange delivers student dictionaries

    LANGUAGE — Mrs. Bruce's class of third graders at Minot Consolidated School enjoy learning from their new dictionaries.   • Guy E. Rowe School

    We want to welcome Mr. Robbie Ripley to Rowe School. He is joining us as an educational technician, replacing Pat Green who has retired. Mr. Ripley has a BS in Elementary Education with a minor in science. Welcome to Rowe!

  • Afternoon games set at Norway library

    NORWAY — The Norway Memorial Library will be hosting a drop in program on Wednesday, February 23 from 12-5 p.m. for children ages six to 12, their parents and friends. A selection of board games and card games will be provided.

  • French Club plans fundraisers

    OXFORD HILLS — Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School French classes are trying to raise $9,000 for a trip to Montreal, Canada in March. They are planning on 27 to 30 participating French class students.

    The French Club is raising the funds to make the trip affordable for all students who want to go. Anyone wishing to donate can send a check or money order to Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School, c/o French Club Montreal Trip, 256 Main Street, South Paris, ME 04281.

  • Woodstock Elementary announces Honor Roll

    BRYANT POND — Woodstock Elementary School has released its second quarter Honor Roll and Perfect Attendance.

  • Local residents receive master's

    STANDISH — Two local residents were among those who received degrees through the Graduate & Professional Studies division at Saint Joseph's College of Maine, which offers on-line undergraduate and graduate education for working adults.

    Sandra Thomas of Norway received a Master of Business Administration and Lindsay Luetje of Greenwood received a Master of Science in Education.

  • Parent-teacher conferences set at OHCHS

    SOUTH PARIS — Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School will be holding parent-teacher conferences on Wednesday, February 9, between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. All teachers and/or teams will be having conferences at this time. Please call Buffy Nason at 743-8914, extension 9532 or 9500 by 10 a.m. on Monday, February 7, with questions or to arrange appointments.
