  • Society to sponsor history internship

    BETHEL — The Bethel Historical Society will sponsor a summer high school history internship again in 2011. Applicants should be 14 to 18 years of age, possess a strong interest in learning about local and regional history, and be highly motivated, honest and reliable. A group of local educators will review all applications, select candidates to be interviewed, and make recommendations to the Society’s Executive Director.

    OXFORD HILLS/BUCKFIELD — Oxford Hills/Buckfield Adult Education announces the following upcoming enrichment classes.

    Monday, March 28: Managing Digital Photos with Clyde Clark, 5:30-8:30 p.m. Cost: $50.

    Wednesday, March 30: Emotional Freedom Technique with Anne Smith, 6-9 p.m. Cost: $55.

    Monday, April 4: Customer Service Skills with Cheryl Lord, 6-8. Cost: $35.

    Thursday, April 7: Chair Caning with Becky Wheeler, 5:30-8:30 p.m. Cost: $60. Material fee paid to instructor.

  • Dean's list

    Siena College

    LOUDONVILLE, NY — Holly Miller, a resident of Bridgton, was named to Siena College's Dean's List for the Fall 2010 Semester. Miller is a senior at Siena College.

    To be named to the Dean's List, a student's GPA for the semester must be between 3.5 and 3.89. Miller was one of approximately 725 students to be named to the list for Fall 2010.

  • Guy E. Rowe School/Eco Kids at the library

    Mr. Sincerbeaux reads Thidwick to Mrs. Gray's Kindergarten class and shares two moose antlers that he found. To celebrate Dr. Seuss's birthday many guest readers read Dr. Seuss books to the Kindergarten classrooms.

  • Bennett named to academic team

    AUGUSTA — Gail Bennett of Otisfield is among 14 Maine community college students named to the All-Maine Academic Team for two-year colleges. These students were honored at a ceremony on Tuesday, March 22, at the Senator Inn in Augusta. The event was hosted by the Maine Community College System Board of Trustees.

  • Rowe School art show

    NORWAY — Thanks go out to the Norway Memorial Library for hosting the first Guy E. Rowe Elementary School Student Art Show. The show will display art by K-6 art students and will include several grade-level group projects.

  • Agnes Gray Elementary art show to be held at West Paris library

    WEST PARIS — Many thanks go to the Friends of the Library for their invitation to host the Agnes Gray Elementary School student art show at the unique and now spacious Arthur L. Mann Library on Main Street in West Paris. The art students are very excited about this opportunity. Imagine having your art on display for over a month and visited by a very supportive art community of friends and family.

  • Project management course offered

    AUBURN — The Corporate and Community Services Department at Central Maine Community College will offer Advanced Project Management on Tuesdays, April 12 and 19, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The cost is $255 and includes all materials.
